I had my SRT sitting pretty low on Aldans for the past year. While I liked the look, it just didn't feel right and I do hit the track, so I went back to stock.
If you are going to do it spend the money to do it right, don't cheap out.
Honestly, the car pretty much drove like crap compared...
I recently blew my engine under hard driving conditions. DC sent a flatbed, they picked up the car and ended up sending the entire engine to Arrow for a full rebuild.
Never was a question asked, they just replaced the engine.
This made me realize that 1) I do not want to own this car without a...
The search function can take care of all your questions.
If you are going to seriously track the car you need to get the comp coupe swingarm oil pickup. If you do the occasional track day on stock tires and the occasional autocross you should be ok, but why push it?
This is especially true if...
I really like my 3.55 for the street, it has been by far my best mod ... however, when I am on the track I find myself wishing I had the stock 3.07.
If you are doing mostly street driving then go 3.55 - if you have the car on the track a lot you are going to want stock. Autocross can go either way.
To add to the wonderful questions, has anyone chipped the plastic on the top of the windshield by closing the top while the latch was in the down position???
Did that within a week of owning the car.
It's all about warranty, the oil pan will not change it but going with different internals, cam, rods or rockers would.
I may go FI one day, but for right now a solid warranty is more important.
By the way, I paid for the comp coupe oil pan not DC. Arrow is putting it in free of charge, but the parts were on me.
DC is honoring the warranty, which is about all I really expected from them. Luckily it is a weekend vehicle for me, if a DD was going to be out of commission for 2 months I...
Of course they have offered me nothing to smoothe this over. Arrow should have the motor out by 22 October (at least that is what they told me).
As for warranty, everything just goes back to my basic plan. They should compensate me as having a non number matching car does hurt the resale.
Luckily I am stock and still very much under warranty (although I did pay to upgrade to the comp coupe swingarm pickup).
There was some oil starvation (discolored rods) but that wasn't the root cause. The crank damper came loose (not the cam bolt as in the recall) and from there everything...
I spoke with Todd at Arrow and my engine is in the "you done blown dat motor, son" pile.
More technically:
#1 and #7 rods
#3 and #4 pistons
Pistons went through the block and the rods took out the oil galley
Needs a completely new block, so no more #'s matching car for me.
Looks like it...
I was playing on some pretty windy West Virginia mountain back roads. So it could have been an oil issue.
I guess I won't know anything for sure until I get a report from Arrow. I wonder if they would mind putting in a different cam as long as they are rebuilding the engine???
I looked into the TSB, and I know the engines are pretty bulletproof, yet I really think I broke a rod or something of that nature.
It really sounded like it was coming from the bottom end.
Sorry, my bad. On the way to Arrow, I must have misheard the Viper tech.
I have the extended warranty to 2011.
This event made it very clear to me that I will not be putting the engine mods to work on this car. I am pretty sure a paxton would void the warranty.
While doing some spirited driving this past friday my engine started making a really bad noise. It was RPM dependent and seemed to be coming from the last cylinder on the left side of the engine. At first I thought it might be a lifter come loose, but then realized that the sound was way too...
