That is a gorgeous car. The only thing is I really prefer the Gen 2 hood, and I'd like to get something with some modifications already done because I know I won't be able to spend any extra money on exhaust/intake/etc. after I buy the car.
That is a great car, someone will snag that up...
I sold my blue/silver MKIII with a Levy stage 5 408CI and that thing hauled ass. It was a high 10 sec car with just 425 RWHP/429TQ. Unfortunately, with no radio, top, heat, AC, and a crappy ride, I couldn't stand driving it. Its not to often someone moves to a Viper to get something more...
Thanks Mike. I've actually been lucky enough to drive each. I had a Gen 1 previously, and I drove a 97 GTS. There are so many pro's for each model, and so few cons, I know I will be happy with either.
However, I just brought this up with the wife and she would prefer a convertable, so if I...
My favorite color!
Thanks everyone for your input. I really am 50/50 on what I want, so I think if the right car comes along (black, blue, grey) that has the miles, condition, etc. that I am looking for I'll feel good about pulling the trigger on either model. I think regardless if I had an...
I have pretty much decided I am going to go with a Gen 2 for my Viper purchase. I love the Gen 3 but I think it would be best not to stretch the budget, and I just can't seem to get over the look of the earlier generations which is what made me fall in love in the first place.
Anyways, I am...
Normally I would agree with you, and maybe I'm just ignorant but I trust the seller fully. He seems like a really good, stand up guy and is well known on this board and the Viper community.
I think he just made a mistake not running any reports prior to purchasing the car. He's tried to...
I had an opportunity to buy a salvaged 06 located just a few blocks from me for $33K with full documentation of the rebuilding process. At a price like that, I would consider a well documented car with a salvage history. I agree there are some good buys of well rebuilt cars out there.
Thanks everyone. You all are right, as much as my heart is telling me this is the car (its just what I want) you all have helped me realize that if I am buying my dream car that I intend to have for a long time, it needs to be the right car. Based on the history this one probably isn't...
Thanks Anthony, I just recieved a copy of the report. Unfortunately there was no good news in there, it was consitant with the Carfax :(
I forwarded it on to the owner as well. Hopefully he can get some answers from the first (original) owner he bought it from.
Thanks everyone. I have talked to the owner and he's a great guy. He has never pulled a carfax and had no idea about this issue so he is contacting the seller and getting photos of the car from the accident (which he has) then will try and figure out what went on with the title.
I appreciate...
Thanks for the info. I think it has only had 2 owners, and most of this mess took place under the prior ownership.
This sucks, I really like the car, good color, and excellent location for me to pick it up. However, it was at the very top of my price range (well a little above actually) and...
Thanks for the advice everyone. I trust the current owner as he is a very well respected person n the forum and Viper community (although I would like to keep them annonymous), but I have a feeling he was unaware of some of the prior issues and is going to look into them.
I think Spook120 may...
I have found a car that I really like for sale. After discussinng things with the current owner he indicated it has a clean, clear title. Well, I ran a car fax and it indicates the car has a "salvage title or salvage auction record" issued in 8/2007 in Colorado, then a repossession in New Jersey...
Congrats on the new ride! I'm picking up a Viper soon and I too just got rid of a Factory Five Cobra. As fast and as beautiful as it was, the Viper is a much better car for me :2tu:
I would be 100% confident in sending my car to Woodhouse. They have as good of a name in this community as anyone you will come across.
If I wasn't planning on picking up a Viper I would be putting a blower on my Jeep SRT8 and Woodhouse would be the first place I would call. :2tu:
