A small number of Viper owners belong to either club. A significantly smaller number actually post on the various Viper forums. Don't let the vocal minority influence one's perspective of the entire Viper community. There are a lot of really good Viper owners out there. As someone else said...
This is my experience as well. I recently sold a car where the buyer purchased a car via bank loan and his bank (by policy) will not wire transfer money obtained via a loan for a vehicle purchase. In my case, I spoke with his bank to confirm the buyer was getting a loan. We then met at my...
No indication of who made it but I do know the material used was a breathable woven fiber from Kimberly Clark - supposedly high quality. This comes from an employee at Kimberly Clark.
I have the factory cover for two of my cars and a custom-fit California car cover for two others and both styles fit great. To be honest, there isn't any appreciable difference in fit. As a purist, I'd prefer the original factory cover but those are getting harder to find.
If you're simply parking the car in a garage in Seattle or in some other warmer climate - clean the interior and exterior and then put it on a battery tender under a decent car cover. If you feel compelled to spend more money start with fuel stabilizer and 1/4 to 1/2 tank of gas. If you still...
What constitutes low mileage (10 miles, 100 miles, 1000 miles or 10,000+ miles)? What do you plan to do with the car (store, drive, etc.)?
Answers to those questions will determine what you should look for.
The Board did their job and cleaned up a source of frustration for the membership. Assessing whether it was "good, bad or neutral" is irrelevant and attempting to do so only invites unnecessary debate as that is expression of an opinion and not a statement of fact.
"Irresponsible" is probably not the right word but should the original poster come back to this thread, Bill's advice to find an opportunity to actually sit in a Viper and hopefully get a chance to drive one is very helpful and I think completely aligned with the intent of the advice provided...
You likely won't fit in a GTS. I am about 6' 5" and getting into/out of the car is a chore (doors are too short to swing your legs in/out). I had to remove the visors in my GTS just to be able to see. If the visors are in the car I am constantly "ducking" my head to see out. I have tried the...
The car is legit and I believe it is owned by a long-time VxA member - and the "WHITE hood with a blue stripe" is the same car zoomed in on the hood (maybe that comment was a play on the blue/black dress internet controversy???). Three owners is not at all "weird."
There are probably 50+ of...
I've been a member of the VCA since 1998. I've owned multiple Vipers over the years and still own multiple Vipers today. You can tell by my "Viper Owner" title that as of Jan 1st I am now one of the "$hit birds" you'd like to kick out. To a degree, you're one of the people who convinced me...
At the track for the weekend of racing. Both Vipers look good in the GTD class, Vettes look very strong in the GTLM class. If there are no endurance issues, they look like the cars to beat. I had the chance to speak with Dick Winkles who is here advising the T1 Automotive team - nice to see...
Let's be very clear, the seller of the pristine '96 B/W car at the $55K hammer price actually nets much closer to upper $40's with the cost of transportation to BJ for the car and the seller(~$1500 for car and owner), listing fees ($500-$1500 depending on day and time), prep fees ($200+) and...
I have to disagree - people are most definitely concerned with mileage with original drive train cars. If the drive train is not original then there is obviously no reason to be concerned with mileage.
I think everyone appreciates your response and the clarity it provides. Those of us that had been long-time paid members of the VCA are well aware of the fall-out of the numerous changes in the VCA in the last 24 months. The magazine is just one of many shortchanged membership benefits...
