I used to have that problem in a Porsche 911 I had prior to the Viper. I tracked it down to humidity. When it rains heavily or was really hot and humid the tach would stick like you guys are describing. When it was dried out (put the heater on and drive for a long time or leave in a warm dry...
A couple weeks ago I took my car ('94 RT) to the drag strip. In my last race one of my plug wires came off and the check engine light came on. I stopped back in the pits and found the loose wire. I put it back on and the car ran fine with no obvious problems. The problem was that the check...
Just ran mine for a lot of runs on a "temporary" drag strip. We rent an airstrip in the boonies up here. Really bad launching on that track but still would have liked to do better. The best I did was 8.09 1/8th at 89 mph. You can see some of the video's at viper.epikos.com.
If you ran sub...
Re: If you\'re a Dodge fan...and like women drag racers...
Thanks Wayne, I had a lucky day...I lost by break out on the run just before the trophies (I took fourth in Super Street). Never lost to any other cars though! Fun day!
If you\'re a Dodge fan...and like women drag racers...
...then check out the video's I just put on the http://viper.epikos.com web site. Look under the Video section and the "Drag Race" category.
I convinced my wife to join me yesterday at the drag races. She took the Durango and I took the...
Just got back from the drag races today after what seemed like an endless break over the winter. I did pretty well (3rd place in Super Sport Class) with the Viper but what was the most fun is I finally convinced my wife to run the Durango!
What a hoot! She got in three time trials but was...
Re: Burping a \'01?
I'm not a mechanic but it could be just your themostat. It seems like maybe it isn't opening soon enough and then your heat goes way up. Then it finally opens with that amount of heat and the temperature drops quickly again.
I am starting to notice a similar thing going...
I'm with you Wayne. If I could get a high mileage '94 for low to mid 20's, I'd buy a new crate engine for $12K and be in the mid to high 30's with a brand new engine.
I paid around $37 for mine last spring but it only had 5,000 mile on it and was stored and treated like a queen for it's whole...
Finally heading out to the drag strip tomorrow morning, 6am tech time on a Sunday, arghh!! I just had BTRViper's nitrous kit in with the propane. I'll let you know how that changed things from non-nitrous for me.
One thing that I am thinking of adding is the automatic bottle openers though...
You might want to try a high quality mic with a spit cover on it...at least that's what we used to call them! Anyway, it's basically a good mic with that foam cover over it that used to be more popular than it is these days. I used to play in a band and when it was windy outside you would get...
In fact Paolo, if you take the two seconds off at the 60 mph point, which would be somewhere between the 60 ft mark and well before the 1/8th mile point, you should get more than a 2 second drop in the 1/4 mile ET. I can't remember the ratio but one tenths of a second in the 60ft equals...
If its bogus make sure you tell Ebay. They want/need to know about this stuff to try to stop it.
PS. If it's not bogus...I'll give you a grand more than you paid!!! Not enough?!!
Anyone who takes a shot like that at Jon B obviously hasn't spoken to him. I used to take pointless shots like that at people, then I turned 8.
By the way, Brett and Kid, is there anyone you haven't annoyed in the last week? You guys seem to have some kind of censorship phobia. Did mommy...

I was going to reply by giving you crap (all in jest of course) but I thought perhaps you have had a rough enough week and might snap and drive your car off a cliff!
They're 2 1/2. You can go to 3 inch but that's not the stock size. I replaced my stock mufflers and cats with Jon B's latest setup and kept the standard size pipes and am very pleased.
Re: is this a good price for a \'93? or could something be wrong?
It's not too low. That's around market value. I got my 94 in mint condition with 9,000 miles for a little less.
Is this a power argument or a drag strip argument? You can't compare one cars' "power" to another solely based on the bench stats and then put an arbitrary box around the argument by not taking into account top speed, etc.
It's a simple case of logic beggar. The Viper has more RWHP and...
So in all honesty, do you like it a lot better. I have had the occasional thought of changing my car from black to yellow as well. I just haven't got the gonads to do it in case I don't like it when it's too late to change back!
Bob, just so you know (since your a new Viper owner), Russ M is not a typical example of the kind of people you find owning Vipers. Unfortunately Chrysler doesn't make you take a maturity test to buy a Viper. Viper ownership has nothing to do with ego's and wealth. I am quite sure I am no...
Re: 95\' RT/10 almost ate it at 135 MPH
If your tires were new then it certainly isn't surprising. Like Ag NSX said, new tires are easy to lose it on. Earlier in my life, when I was even more naive than I am now, I nearly killed myself on new tires. I completely spun around. I went back to...
