I'm going to remove mine for sure, especially when the proper lowering springs come out. And once lowered, there's no way the splitter can stay w/o scraping everywhere. I already looked under the front bumper and there are a few screws that needed to be remove from underneath the car, but the...
Probably a repost but I don't remember seeing the article before so sorry if it is. Autoblog has a great review of the TA and the writer's comments are spot on, especially about the sweet handling of the car. After doing an autocross event, driving the car at ten tenth, I can say the car is...
I'm in the middle of debating whether to swap out the TA's OEM shocks for MCS. Based on Dan's advise 5 or so years ago, I went with 500#/800# springs in my ACR and loved the new found balance of the car. Since I do mostly lower speed tracks and autox, 500/800 was perfect for me. With less...
My impression of the pedal positions are just the opposite. I feel the brake pedal is too high and make heel-and-toe difficult in street driving, and once the brake heats up (if they do as I have not been to a real track event yet) and softens up a little, the pedal will sink a little more and...
If someone has a service manual, it would show the difference. Can someone look it up please? I was thinking one way to make my TA more daily-driver friendly is to apply the GTS insulation package but the cost of that would probably be higher than just putting Dynamat or GTmast in the whole...
Hi bobafett, Welcome to the TA tribe. How does the TA's brake feel compare to your ZR1, feel as to initial bite, pedal effort, linearity, etc.? BTW what color did you get? Any pix?
Thank you for all the responses and PM's, especially the one from SRT. I was looking in the wrong places, and finally had my wife helped me locate the spueak and it turned out to be from the brake duct panel on the passenger side. The driver's side panel doesn't make any noise, so it must be...
The intent of starting this thread was to see if other Gen V owners are experiencing the same issue and since no one else is reporting the same, the purdent thing to do now is to take the car back to the dealer for a thorough checkup. The only issue is that there's a Viper vs. Corvette...
When I had the Gen 4, and after I had roll bar installed, when the roll bar was not tight, I heard similar creaks. I had to tighten the bolts of the roll bar by the rear wheel well mounts and the rear hatch hinges to make the creaky sound go away. But this time around, the rear hatch seems to...
Definitely a creak from behind me. Also I already removed the air deflectors as I don't think I need them for street driving and for autox. For road course, I'll put them back on to help cool the brakes.
I was thinking of the same, maybe the internal "roll bar" wasn't tight or something like that. But it sure is embrassing and annoying, especially when I have a passenger in the car and come to a driveway and the car creaks more than any of my other cars. I might not have gotten a pumpkin, I...
i've noticed since new, I seem to hear more creaks and squeaks from the chassis when I pull onto driveways and ramps than from my old Gen 4 ACR over the same driveways. The new chassis is suppose to be stiffer but my experience is telling me otherwise, at least from the back half of the car...
I had MGW's First Strike knob on my '08 and like the FS's shorter shaft much better than my '08 OEM, but the '14 has a shorter shaft to begin with and therefore I wonder how much shorter the MGW's knob is than the current GEN V's OEM shaft (not any previous generations).
Has anyone tried the MGW short shift knob yet? I wonder how much shorter is the MGW knob than the OEM Gen V shift knob. I am looking to cut the height by about 1 inch.
Here's the MGW knob:
Congrats on the black TA. Both black and orange TA's are stunning, white isn't so bad either. Well any TA is GREAT...:headbang:Enjoy the car in good health.
Agree with Mark 100%. I overheated the PCCB in my 996 GT3 and the rotor even changed color and had a dark tint to it. Then it developed hairline cracks between the holes of the rotor and a few cracks spanned across 3 holes. And one has to be careful in changing wheels at the track as the...
It is about 4.85" in the corner and my ones did scrape a couple of times already but the skid plate does a good job protecting it, but even knowing it is just the skid plate, I still crinch when I hear the scraping sound. I also don't think the corner splitters integrate that well in the front...
Interesting product! Could the video be overlaid easily with performance data and track map? Easily I meant w/o a lot of post processing. I have tried software programs such as Harry's Lap timer, Torque, MaxQ Data on various platform and had a VBox Performance Box but couldn't find one that...
