Mine went bad too. I took it out of the car a few weeks ago, and took it apart just now. The wires just pulled right out of the resistor housing, not even connected to the resistor. It wouldn't be hard to solder it back together, though.
I haven't driven the car in really warm weather yet, so I don't know yet how effective the heat reduction will be.
This was mostly the mass-loaded vinyl. The stuff is great for blocking noise, but weighs more than a pound per square foot. Since I don't track the car or drag race, instead...
Great site. After reading all that, I went with Second Skin Damplifier in my car as a vibration damper (80 sq ft), then 36 sq ft of closed cell foam as a decoupler under 32 sq ft of mass loaded vinyl as a noise barrier (last two are applied to horizontal surfaces in the trunk and floor pan, as...
Transmission swaps (TR6060 in Gen II) have been discussed at length. A search should turn up everything on that. You might be interested in this thread too: http://forums.viperclub.org/performance-modifications/625308-who-wants-awesome-option.html
Me too. Triplexotica, if I were you I would either break down and get a battery tender, or disconnect the battery when you don't drive the car for three months (as the owner's manual suggests). I don't think you'll be able to find a battery that holds a charge while connected for that long....
There's a plastic locking tab on the switch that the knob clips to. I have two switches with this tab broken off (the dash is a b**** to get in and out without breaking it, as I discovered more than once)--if you can use them, you're welcome to them. You can also get new at the local auto...
Yeah, they are expensive...but when I decided to go with clear side markers, I couldn't find them anywhere else. I used the factory housings, too, so $45 for mine.
Klearz makes clear and smoke lenses as well as white (same as OEM), silver, and black housings. You can reuse your old housings or buy theirs if you prefer a different color (if I installed smoke lenses, I would probably go with black housings). ..: Klearz :..
Where are you mounting the ballasts? I could only fit one inside the headlight housing, so I left the halogens in the high beams for now. But I want to swap my high beams for red HIDs--illegal, but I think the effect would be cool...
Looks like the side sills on the second car were painted to match the aftermarket stripes...not sure I like the way it looks, and I'm not really big on the cognac interior. My advice is this 1) research the differences between model years 2) decide what features you want (ABS, forged vs. cast...
