Baby Wipes Perfect for Bug Cleanup

I know this is an old thread but... Using baby wipes to wipe down your car probably isn't a good idea. It's probably stripping the wax right off. After all, the stuff they're designed to removed can be pretty caustic. --Rob

    Relays IN the door?

On a very similar topic, whose bright idea was it to mount the seatbelts ON the door? If your door opens while going down the road, it's very good that the seatbelts get out of your way so you can fall out of the car if you want to. What were they smoking? --Rob

    Relays IN the door?

I just noticed a clicking sound from INSIDE my driver-side door the other day. This happens when opening and closing the door and happens only at certain points when the door is opened. Is that a relay I hear in there or is it something mechanical? If it's a relay, why in the world would they...

    Battery disconnect point seized

Ok...first thing, forget the WD-40. You need a real penetrant like Liquid Wrench. It's probably the best on the market. Spray (or drip) that on and let it sit overnight. I haven't looked at this particular connection but is it too near the plastic to use a torch? It's possible they used...

    An AMG Viper?

What I was implying is that Hennessey would be the best choice to bring INTO DC to do the tuning. Just imagine what he could do with that huge budget!! As an aside, John, do you have a nephew who races a T-Bird supercoupe? --Rob

    Sex, Lies, and Dodge Vipers

Ok...I've been lurking on this one so far...but..what the hell... When I was growing up there was this blonde who lived not far from me. I dated one of her friends for a while so we were pretty good friends. I'd lost track of her for a while but heard rumors that she was dancing at some club...

    An AMG Viper?

I would hope John Hennessey is watching this. AMG used to be an independant just like his shop. Hennessey is certainly the best-known name in the Viper tuner category. Have his business practices improved any? --Rob

    8 hours for an alignment!?!?!?

I recently stopped by a Dodge dealer in Daytona to get my front end aligned. He said that aligning the front-end of a Viper can sometimes take up to 8 hours?!?!? (at $75 per hour!) Is he right or was he trying to take me for a ride? I've owned and worked on many exotic and racing cars in the...

    Daytona this weekend

I was in Daytona that weekend and saw a red RT/10 with Florida license plate "Viper 1". Is that anyone on the board? If so, I was the red RT/10 with the "1" racing number on the side. This was on Friday. I also saw a black GTS headed south on N. Atlantic avenue. Couldn't see the plate...

    New cooling system mod possible?

I tried to post this a while back to the end of another thread but...I don't think it ever showed up. Anyway, back when I used to drive a DeLorean (Hi Andy), the procedure for removing trapped air from the cooling system was fairly elaborate and time consuming, much like the Viper. Someone...

    Steel floorpans?!?!?!

I removed my carpet and heat shielding material under my seats to dry it out again. Is it my imagination or are the floorpans made of steel? Seems odd that they'd build 90% of the car out of alternative materials and the make the one part that gets the most exposure to moisture (in my car...

    warranty trans for a 94 ?

Sorry I don't know anything about the trans Scott...but I did notice you're in Fairfax, VA. I just bought a '94 RT/10 a few weeks ago and I live in Alexandria. Drop me a line sometime at (703)780-5629 or e-mail at [email protected] and we'll compare notes or meet up for a beer sometime. --Rob

Stock Amps in trunk...ok to adjust?

I've got a '94 RT/10 and noticed that there are two amps in the trunk. I'd like to adjust them but the controls are set to "static" (I think) and there is a small steel plate screwed onto the switch to keep it from being moved to "adjustable" (or some such). Is there any danger in setting...

    94rt/10 w/ 1500miles??

Ok..what I MEANT to say was check to see if the left front shock and the steering rod are new. Also, the small aluminum plate on the bottom of the car just in front of where the driver's feet are (but on the outside) was wrinkled pretty bad. If it's not the same one, disregard this message...

    94rt/10 w/ 1500miles??

Please check the left front shock of this car. Also check the steering rod going down the left side of the engine. Look for slight overspray on the underside of the hood. If you find these things, this is a car that was wrecked. If it's the same one, I looked at this car in Maryland about a...

    Hot to remove bug guts?

Oh...Jason explained this one to me before: You'll need: 1 pair of fish-net stockings 1 can of turtle-wax bug & tar remover 1. Shake the bug & tar remover thorughly. 2. Spray some of the bug & tar remover on the bug or tar to be removed. 3. While the b&t remover is working, go back in the...

Viper Sighting in Virginia...anyone from the list?

I just happened to run upon a silver and black GTS today going North on Rt. 1 in Alexandria. License plate was ZAC-22??. Anyone from board? BTW, I noticed this car had the word KOMPRESSOR on the back taken from a Mercedes. Supercharged I suppose? --Rob Hook

Got my car! :D A few more questions...

For those who may remember my earlier post, I didn't get the car that had a "slight" accident. I'm pretty sure the accident was much more sever than the owner was letting on. Instead I found a '94 RT/10 on consignment at a Toyota dealership. Just brought it home a few days ago!! Life IS...

    94 R/T Blown head gasket???

What's involved with retorquing the head gaskets? I've rebuilt engines in the past so I know the basics. What I mean is, do you loosen the head bolts and the retighten them? Do you remove them and replace them due to the yield? This problem really worries me as I almos bought a supercoupe...

A few tech questions about a car I'm considering.

A few tech questions about a car I\'m considering. Hello all... I'm in the process of buying a slightly older Viper (I MUST have side-pipes! ) and I've found what appears to be a pretty good one in my area. It's a '94 RT/10 with only 1500 miles in it. The onwer is asking a very reasonable...
