Slysnk,
the saying goes "when in a spin, both feet in" meaning brake and clutch simultaneously. When sliding, the first thing is to attempt to correct the slide by countering with opposite steering with the realization that if you correct fast enough you will have to almost immediately...
Injecthevenom,
I like your thinking. You are obviously well-versed in Viper history. I remember it well because i own a 1991 Stealth and recall the furor over having the Stealth pace the Indy 500. It was of course replaced by Viper RT/10 prototype.
I think for historical reasons your...
Jean,
I wish you were on the East Coast so I could help you out. You seem like a very cool Viper guy. Best of luck and bon voyage. We look forward to your results.

Surely there are examples of restored salvage cars and those not salvaged that are current collectors cars to answer these questions about relative value. Someone please put an end to this chatter.

Whiteout,
If you take I-70 through the mountatins, don't forget to bring chains for your Viper. If the weather is bad, you will need them. Also, just in case, you will see runaway truck ramps on the downslopes so if you pick up too much speed and hit an icy spot you may need to take the ramps...
White out, if I-70 is closed you can always try Route 6 over Loveland Pass. That will truly be a white out and a real challenge to your averaging 95 mph. If you are serious about driving that fast on public roads with a Viper during the winter (BTW, the day after Dec 25th is aka Dec 26th) then...
Thanks Bill P for another bit of Viper trivia. I have been a big fan of the Connolly Leather Interior (much better than that Corinthian Leather Ricardo Montalban used to sell in those other cars). I was able to buy an RT/10 with Connolly leather when another buyer opted out because he did not...
It does make sense when you consider the cost of having a separate wiring loom for hardcore vs regular Viper. Wire does not weigh that much especially considering its only for the radio and speakers.
PAVenomRT/10
I'd much rather go on a diet to reduce the weight of the car and driver by 20 pounds than pull all that wiring out. I am sure if i tried that the car would never run again!:dunno:

Somewhat surprisingly, I also agree with Tiger! The dealer is asking a premium because of the unusually low mileage. However, most Vipers have relatively low mileage. My 2000RT/10 has 24K and is considered by some to be high mileage. For most other cars that is not the case. I would say 40K...
I noticed that several owners with Gen II cars with forged pistons (1996-99) were deliberately running 1 qt. low on oil on the track at Viper Days. Their rationale was to avoid detonation from burning excess oil as the i guess the larger tolerances with the forged pistons can allow this to...
ITV,
According to the Motor Trend article on the ACR ring record the seat was a Racetech seat as noted below excerpted from the article
"A note on the two Viper ACRs: Except for a Racetech seat with a six-point harness, each ACR is factory stock and fitted with the Hard Core package, a no-cost...
You should probably join the region where your car is located so you can participate in regional events, cruises, etc with your car. However, i am sure that once you join the VCA you will be welcome to attend events in either location whether you attend with your car or not. The VCA welcomes...
Chuck,
How can they sell a street legal version without those restrictions? For the ACRX, if there is such a car, yes, but not for ACR.:dunno:
PAVenomRT/10
I should have put that in past tense as they should have done that in 2008. Even with the Nurburgring record in 2008, many ACR's were not sold initially. There are still few left but certainly not many.
APVenomRT/10
I think Dodge should provide discounts for all current Viper owners to take their Vipers to the closest track while having a few ACR's on hand to show what they can do. This will likely cause many including myself to pursue getting what is arguably the best track car on the planet. Certainly...
The 40K includes rental of the Ring in my estimate which is now deemed a bit low as 4 hr Ring rental is about 32K. However, i was not that far off. I know track rentals in US but Ring is much bigger track and more in demand.
