    painting a gen II coupe---

I get the trucks in my shop stripped down (blasted) to bare metal, primered, painted, and cleared for $5K. They are a lot bigger than the Viper and the paint jobs are great! I will admit that I'm not quite as picky on them as I would be on my personal car but the shop I use does a good enough...

    Gold Hurst 50th Anniversary Viper

Hi all: Here are the pictures of the Hurst 50th Anniversary Viper. The pics aren't great, but you should get the idea... I snapped them at the Barrett-Jackson opening night gala on Monday night. The pictures have been uploaded to the gallery as well. :2tu: There's no "chicks" in any of...

    Fuel Pressure Gauge Install Question?

So, to revive this thread I have a rookie question... If one was to install a fuel pressure gauge, where would you tap in to the system for the install? I would be using an electric gauge vs. mechanical.

Considering a Supercharger for your Gen 2?

What would you recommend as a proper FMU calibration for the Paxton? I doubt I am running rich, as my plugs show a lean burn pattern. I believe the car was calibrated to run on 93 octane, but I can only get 91 in this area. Owner number 2 had the system installed and I don't think he really...

Considering a Supercharger for your Gen 2?

Thanks for the tip. I was thinking it was the TPS, MAP, or IAT. The generic scan tool I have didn't seem to show anything wrong with any of those sensors. However, by the seat of my pants I would have to respectfully disagree with said scan tool. I plan to do some work on the...

Considering a Supercharger for your Gen 2?

I think a lot of my issues go back to the original installing dealer. I have two lag issues. The first one involves the supercharger. The original dyno sheets show the power doesn't come on until about 2800 RPM. Way too far up the rev range for my preferred tastes... My second lag issue seems...

How much would a 24 yo pay for insurance?

Full coverage on the Viper, Scion TC, House and a large umbrella policy runs me less than $2400 a year. 27 years old. The insurance on the Viper alone is less than I was paying on my 98 Mustang.

    Problems with PS pulley removal

Once the Paxton was out of the way, doing mine in the car was a snap. The pulley was super tight though and it took (slowly) using a 1/2" air gun on my puller set to get the pulley off. You should be able to leave the pump attached to the bracket to get the pulley off. This the puller set I...

    Viper vs. Vette production 2008

I just want to know who buys a Vette with a 2.56 axle ratio!?!?!? 29.2% of buyers apparently. What a waste...

    Problems with PS pulley removal

Worst case scenario, you could purchase a new P/S pump and start completely fresh. I know its a pretty common part and you can pick them up at most Napa, Autozone, Checker, etc. for under $100.

    Correct tire pressure to run?

I run mine at 38 PSI for "fuel economy." Less PSI will give you a softer tire which generally means more traction. It also contributes to faster tire wear. More PSI will give you a harder tire which generally makes the car jounce over bumps and road irregularities. Too much PSI will also...

    Problems with PS pulley removal

Blame the bean counters... The likely savings from the plastic pulley vs. a metal pulley would likely keep the company from going bankrupt. Oh wait... :D

Lets see what you owned before your first Viper!

I had a sick 1988 1/2 Ford EXP with a rusted out floor... R.I.P. :burnout: A 1991 5.0 Ford Thunderbird... R.I.P. :omg: A 1998 Mustang GT Convertible... Currently being "restored" by my dad. Hopefully I can find pictures of them all. I think to post them would be a waste of...

    Brake Calipers

A couple more questions... If I was to get some front calipers painted or powdercoated, where could I obtain the "Viper" logos/stickers? Are the brake lines size 3 or 4?

    Problems with PS pulley removal

Matco tools part# MST93 works every time. It's a perfect fit both on and off. See if your local MATCO dealer has one that he can loan to you. My pulley was a lot tighter on the shaft than most pulleys that I have removed. Going back on wasn't nearly as bad.

How many miles did you put on your Viper this year?

I'm gonna hijack my own thread and put in that I put over 1400 miles on my in-line skates this year. Some of you need to drive your cars more... j/k :drive: :D I am impressed that a lot of people put some pretty decent miles on their cars. They are getting more use than I imagined. :2tu...

Considering a Supercharger for your Gen 2?

If you are thinking about a Supercharger you should still consider it. Just consider all the stuff that you have to do with it. If you structure everything properly, you should be ok. I say get the heads and do the supercharger!!! :omg:
