I'm guessing they are the same clips that come in the fascia. If that's correct....you can not reuse them. They are cheap and can be found at most auto parts stores. I removed mine using a small putty knife. Just put the blade under the head of the clip and hit the back of the handle with...
Do all vipers come from the factory with a hood pad? My 94 doesn't have one and I don't know if it was taken off by the original owner(i'm 2nd owner) or if it never came with one.
After removing my fascia to get repainted, I noticed I have a hole in the coolant overflow bottle, caused by the fascia bolt. How are people fixing these holes?
How do you get the christmas tree plugs back in that are under the headlights? They were hard enough to get out and I can't figure out how I will get them back in when ready to re-install.
Done :2tu:
I left the aluminum tape piece on the back of the pads since the originals had them also(fronts) original rears did not have the aluminum tape but I left it anyway, as I didn't see a reason it would matter.
Thanks for all the help!
PS. I did NOT remove the rear calipers...
The repairs are only on the under side but still every one of the posts i've searched have said you MUST remove the fascia to truely do the job correct.
Found some old posts on "how-to", so I think i'm set to go. I will go the route of removing the plastic clips as opposed to the whole bumper assembly.
Since my fascia alignment is perfect now, will it go back on in the same spot or will there be adjustments to do?
I want to put the front end up on jackstands to work on wheels, brakes, and remove front facia. I will drive it up onto a couple blocks to get the front end up high enough to fit floor jack under it.
Where is the best place to place floor jack in order to put jack stands under it and where is...
I need to take my front fascia off to get the scratches under the front fixed/re-painted. Two questions:
1. How to remove it (Gen 1)
2. Will it be easy for the body shop to match the stock black paint?
How about this... I spoke with Jon yesterday afternoon and ordered new pilot sports. Today UPS shows up with the tires! THAT'S INCREDIBLE :2tu:
PS- I read these posts quite often and thought it was impossible......until it happened to me. :D
Jon at partsrack told me they would not be good for my low miles and would harden much quicker than the pilot sports. Most likely would only last me 2 years as opposed to 7 or 8 with the michelins. Since I know nothing about tires, I had to go on his word.
Well I just found out the v700's are out of stock so I went ahead and ordered the Michelin Pilot Sports. Can't really see the extra $500 being worth it...but what you gonna do :(
I just ordered tires and greens so I hope they work fine. I just figured since I had to take the wheels off for the first time since the car was new, I should replace the pads. :2tu:
