Not Happy! National VCA please get involved!

I am constantly amazed by people like GTS who do not own the car, yet want to tell us what we should or should not do or what we should or should not feel. Sorry, unless someone is in the same position as we are, - bought a car on a promise - sight unseen, based on loyalty and honor then you...

Not Happy! National VCA please get involved!

Fred, we agree with you. Your ideas are sensible and rational. However, why is D/C not listening to you or to us. I want to share my recent experience in calling D/C about the "problem." I called the given 800 number and pressed "5." The man I spoke to had no knowledge of the real problem...

    Not Happy

" I also suspect there is damage being done to the valve seat and am sure some will disagree but I do not care about conjecture only the facts and an appropriate fix." Based upon what Fred said (see above) should we all stop driving our cars to prevent any further damage (that D/C would not fix)?

Yes, we agree. Maybe one person from each region can be the point person. For example, if you were the point person for your region maybe everyone can contact you. We really need to generate a list of all people who are effected and make decisions as a group. I know some people do not think...

Has anyone found any "extras" in their new car?

Re: Has anyone found any Image didn't come through, what is it?

    Not Happy

Fred, perhaps all the owners affected by the intake valve need to get together and decide what actions we need to take. It seems that some "folks" are too passive about this very real issue. It also appears that D/C is concerned that we will all get together for a class action lawsuit...

    Not Happy

Fred, we agree with you. It appears that if you sign the letter, prior to the repairs, you are accepting whatever they do. Also, by signing it, it removes the liability of D/C of any loss of value or performance if the repair is not done correctly or any scratches or mistakes done by the...

    Extremely Disappointed

Thanks for the words of support. Having bought the first Porsche 930 Turbo in 1976 I know the problems that can arise with first year models. However, DC is handling it better than Porsche did. As a side note, I do LOVE the car.

    Intake Valve Problem and Suggestion

I think D/C should buy the cars back and replace them with 2004's.

    Extremely Disappointed

I am extremely upset with the quality control that D/C exhibited when building the SRT/10. There are several major issues that I am finding difficult to understand. We waited 13 months, I know others are still waiting, yet the car is still not perfect. I received the letter and I am concerned...

2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 - Intake Valve Issue

Everyone who recived a letter is now part of the club. :smirk: As a footnote, today I was suddently surrounded by 2 bronze Lamborghini Murcielago's at around 3:00 PM on highway 280 and I was afraid to race due to the perceived lack of power. :( However, if I was in my 97 GTS I would have...

2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 - Intake Valve Issue

Thanks Joseph for the words of wisdom! I, actually, am glad I am part of the repair/recall, since driving the car (after the break-in period), it did not feel as fast or powerful as my 97 GTS. Milksnake --------- 2003 SRT/10 97 GTS 1979 930 Turbo (and assorted milk trucks)

2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 - Intake Valve Issue

We had a difficult time ascertaining if our SRT/10 was part of the repair/recall group. Last week I emailed D/C and did not get a response. Yesterday, I called the 800 and was told that "No, my car was not part of the recall." I asked to speak to someone else, because I did not not feel...

    Finally a driving day!!!

Congratulations for finally being able to drive your car. Hope the weather stays clear. Fornately, we live in CA and are spoiled, the weather is beautiful. Also, I agree, how time changes things; however, I can add what a difference 40 years makes. 40 years ago I signed a waiver that I...

    "Easy Driver"

\"Easy Driver\" Picked up our car this morning at Hayward Dodge - Layne did a supurb jobt getting the car ready for us. After learning how to start the engine and playing with the hood release we began our drive. Top down, sun shining - a perfect day in northern California - who could ask for...

    Another Dyno Run

I am confused. Why do you have a new SRT-10 when you never owned a VIPER? ( or have I misread your posting)We are awaiting ours and still have not gotten a delievery date! Glad you learned from the postings, however, we learned first hand. Please tell us your secret for getting a VIPER before...

The looks of the SRT... (pic or four)

As far as the naca duct is concerned, even if it is an add-on, at least it is a functional ram-air and not just a "hole in the hood."

    Dyno numbers on SRT/10 ??

Ben, what is your number? We are 756 and are also awaiting my wife's red SRT. Milksnake

    Dyno numbers on SRT/10 ??

The California version of my '76 930 Turbo Porsche and my '79 930 Turbo Porsche were slower than the other 49 state versions and required more mods to get the performance I wanted. Will this (the Viper) be the same situation?

Red/Gray stripe Viper spotted in WA.

Not impressed. Stripes make it look even more like a Camaro. We still have ours on order, but wondering about all the problems that are posted. Maybe we have been blessed, but our 97 GTS has been trouble free since it was hatched!
