Bring an elder VCA member when you look at it. Buying a Viper that's been owned by VCA members will help as well, as you can get information about it from others. Carfax. Have a respected Viper Tech look at it. Make a list, check it twice.
They'll be plenty of low mileage vipers in that year range compared to your average car in that same year range. It's a performance car as well as a collectors item, so you're going to it used as everything from a high mileage daily driver, low mileage drag car (with lots of wear), or a low...
I remembered something from a long time ago that this thread brought my attention back to... Some of my old buddies have become lawyers. This was years ago but I remember a discussion between a few of them where they talked about probable cause and it's basis. They said that in no legal...
I've never been pulled over and the cop NOT ask for these things, whether they are going to warn me or not. Most want to have these things to run a scan on your record for previous violations and to see if your car is legit. I've also found that keeping the number of violations on your record...
Yeah, I'll be ignorant enough to go out and TRY to get a ticket... And if I was stupid enough to try that, you'd have to pay for more than the ticket, you'd have to pay for the insurance hike over the years (probably would add up to thousands).
The 9 out of 10 times is not an exxageration in...
Some people are just rotten to the core, and some people are just having bad days. MOST of the time if a cop is being an a$$ to you, it's due to just the bad day reason and you happened to be the unlucky person that day.
I've been stopped well over 50 times in the past few years. In my entire...
Regardless of how bad the deal was earlier, the fact that he won't give you the money back on your deposit (in part or in full) absolutely without a doubt shows EVERYONE on this forum and in the viper community that Brian IS a fraud. Shelby3 in NO WAY had any part of making Brian NOT give the...
Not to try and piss Eric off, but I'd keep it. The Gen I RT/10 and '96 blue angel GTS will be quite a collectors item come 30 years later, especially with your original intentions on keep it mint.
I had a problem with overheating anytime I drove over 75mph on my '94 camaro a long time ago. I took it to a dealer who didn't know what to make of it. They performed a slew of minor changes and fixes that they "thought" was the problem. $1200 later, it still overheated.
Turns out that...
It has collected chips over time, it's time for a repaint. Last time it was painted the original paint was not stripped, so you can see some tiny paint cracks. I'm gonna have it stripped and painted fresh.
"Must explain more clearly. If I were selling my car, I would disclose the engine overhaul IF asked."
Engine overhauls and tranny replacements are BIG deals on cars and should be treated as such. If you don't make the buyer aware of this history beforehand, it's easily going to be construed as...
Re: Where there no convertibles for 97\'s?
Yes, VERY few made. I looked for one myself not too long ago.
The '97 RT/10 was the first RT/10 to be Gen II (I believe).
Looks like 10-15 minutes to fully inflate the capsule. Actually getting the car in and out would take too long at all. Not too bad of an investment if you ask me, even the biggest capsule is under $500.
Take the cats off for a day to factor that out of the equation :)
My friend had this problem once, but it would hardly apply to your issue. Anytime he throttled heavily, the fuel line would clamp shut. He had to have some heavy duty fuel line installed. Again, I can almost guarantee this...
Yeah, there's no reason to give him the $1100. Generousity isn't something this guy is looking for, he's looking to scam you. I don't care WHAT has been done to the car, it is their duty to let you know the complete history and condition of the car to their knowledge WHETHER you ask it or not...
Dusting it everytime wouldn't be too much of a pain, it's not going to be a daily driver and it'll have a garage before too long.
I just don't like the fact of leaving it outside overnight even with a cover on (I'm in a good neighborhood but that doesn't mean something won't happen). I think...
Anyone have any recommendations on good car covers that won't mess with a mirror like paint job? I've heard of some covers causing bad swirel marks or dust scraping.
What about storing the car? I won't have a garage until the fall, so I need to find a place to keep the snake at night. It's not...
If you are having to ask yourself if you should or shouldn't invest in a high cost car (both up front as well as maintanence) because of the cost of having a new addition to the family, then I'd say you already know the answer.
But damn you'd be a cool dad!
