No, I've got a sapphire RT/10 and it would only be in the Wilmington vicinity with the surfboard. So I guess I'm not the only one using toting a surfboard around. I wonder how surf racks would look with the hard top?
You Sissies. I park my car everywhere and in 9 years & 120K miles I have had no problems at all. I do park way out in parking lots, but that's just to avoid idiots slinging doors without looking.
Look for more reasons to drive your cars, not more reasons to keep them parked it in the garage.
The car can be replaced (I'm on my second one now). Take the chance to upgrade to an '01 or '02 RT. I'm glad I did, but I still miss my first car sometimes.
This car was totaled about 6 years ago. An impatient driver tried to cross a busy intersection on a 55mph highway and didn't see (or hear) my car coming. I've heard 3rd hand that the car was salvaged and is back on the road. Be interesting to know if it still had the stripes.
It is the same...
I was finally able to get some files off my old hard drive and uploaded some pics of the original SEASNAKE. I still miss this car. I hope you guys enjoy the pics. I'm starting to think these stripes would look sweet on my sapphire car.
I had Cannon's Auto Refinishing (Tom's Wilmington guy) paint stripes on my old RT and they did a very nice job on them. It cost me about $2500, but that was with multi-tone paint($400 per pint), some minor repair work and 3 coats of clear.
If we were working side by side and it took you 18 hours to swap heads on a viper, then I would be mooing and bringing you milk to drink. I know there are people who like the idea that they paid more to ensure that their baby was properly pampered. I'm just not that kind of person.
I did...
That's way to much time for the heads (If you're only doing heads that is). No thermostat change, cam, etc.? With a decent set of air tools and a lift, the heads can be off and reinstalled in less than 6 hours. Assuming the tech is familiar with Vipers...
The headers can indeed be more of a...
I've been daily driving RTs (9+years) for a long time (GEN1 and GEN2). I don't think you can ever reach 100% weatherproofing. On my GEN1 with the hardtop, Vmania windows & new weatherstripping I came pretty close. In driving rain, there are several places to look at: Where the windows meet...
I weighed my car (01 RT) for grins at a Viper Days event. It was 3598 with me (200lb) in it and the hard top on. I thought the GEN 1 RTs were heavier...Engine changes, manifold changes, frame etc.
I had my 2001 PCM reflashed by DC after doing major (for me that is) mods to my car. I did it for the temperature reduction because my car was running a good bit hotter after the heads/headers were installed. I had already dyno'ed the car and was running close to optimum A/F, so I didn't...
My poor memory was that this happened at Kershaw, SC and that it was due to a poor installation of brake lines. Another added bonus was the removal of the e-brake during the "performance" brake system installation. I think you can see Sean reaching for the e-brake to no avail.
The year your hardtop was made makes a huge difference in how well the VMania windows fit. The weatherstripping is different depending on where they were made. I bought them for the 94 I had and they stuck out about 1/2" where the hardtop met the windshield pillar. I wound up stripping off...
My best was a 11.65 @ 124.2. The underground car (manual shift) ran about 9.3 @ 135. I'd post my time slip, but it is too faint for my scanner to work on. The track was in excellent shape and it was a great day for going down the strip. Too bad we didn't get more people to show up.
Re: Chicago\'s Comin\' to Put the smack down on you NC hillbillies !!
I probably won't be able to make it there, but I will keep it in mind. So what kind of times are you running now? I should be in the mid 11s at the Rock.
I'm looking at my Viper Shootout Winner plaque right now and I...
Re: Chicago\'s Comin\' to Put the smack down on you NC hillbillies !!
Too bad you're not coming down the next weekend (April 14). It's Mopars at the Rock and there will be plenty of Vipers there I'd really like to kick some Azzveto there. Watch out for the sneaky pro tree...
This was posted on another topic (talking about an AEM):
"I'm fond of mentioning that i took a bone stock 97 GTS and tuned it from baseline to 50 more rwhp and 75tq in bone-stock form. There is MUCH left over in these cars. Plus A/F is NOT optimum in stock form. "
Please let us know how this...
