Look up Treynor's post regarding the Power Effects mufflers. You can adjust them without raising the car. Downside is, I don't think they don't come in 3 inch.
The avatar is all I have so far. It will be shown during a Porsche fest this weekend in a section called "Competitors Row". Hopefully will get some more flattering pics. I like the fact that they don't have all those little screws/nuts around the periphery that collect dust.
Re: from a vette to a viper, who\'s done it ?
Went from leased 99 C5 coupe to creampuff ACR (bought). Got tired of watching C5 values drop like a rock whent the latest and greatest Vette was anounced each yr. Decided not to wait for the Z06 as the lease came to and end. Was extremely lucky...
Where did you get the 3M film in bulk form? The lowest price I have found in my town is $750 for a 20 yard x 24 inch roll. This is for 9mil thickness. I played around with this film for my mirrors (from Invincashield co) and it is tricky. I noticed this stuff on one of the Archer cars on the...
My car came with them (I bought used). I get complements from alot of Viper owners when they see the car. It really goes well with the steel gray. Very light and apparently very strong.
The Subaru is heavily modded if it is the one being mentioned in the Subaru forums. Last year it ran 12.6. It has better engine management now, so it probably is faster this year. The guy posted almost beating a Viper last year (from CT), so must be the one.
With a boost controller and...
Posted in a different thread: Newer Vipers may send a code or light if the skip shift is simply disconnected. The cheapest skip shift eliminator is $17 from Midamerica Designs (a Vette co.) C5 part is the same; works on mine.
The main reason for getting rid of the skip shift is avoid the...
Some creampuffs will give a code if the skip shift is disconnected. Cheapest skip shift eliminator is thru Midamerica Designs (a corvette parts company) ($17) if memory serves.
I got mine from MidAmerica Designs for around $25. It is the same as above. I was able to put it on with jack stands and without removing the under tray.
Ebay seems to have a few listed lately.
With belanger headers and exhaust, I use earplugs to drive any long distance. Luckily the car is quietest at 74 mph. WOT is loud and sounds great but the sound you get when letting off from WOT is painful at times. Hearing loss is cumulative. Within a certain threshold, the ear cells can...
Re: Need plus and wires for 99 GTS...who\'s got \'em cheap?
JonB,
You forgot to mention the Snake booties when I ordered the high temp wires. Do you think they are that necessary with the 8.5's?
Overkill?
Also,
is there an anti-seize like material recommended for plug changes? Would like to...
Any idea how modified the Z06's were? It's great that you guys were there to show the true capability of the V10. Any drag racing novices like me would have let them gloat on by. 12.4 is tough!
I did get less wheelhop when I adjusted the Koni's to the recommended levels from this site. They were on softest settings when I first went to the track. I have not gone to the highest settings yet.
Re: Too good to be true (3\" Corsa perf. gain)?
I've had a hard time finding posts on Belanger before and after dyno results. I wonder if the Corsa 18 hp increase is similar to the others on the market or substantially greater. Corsa believes they will perform as good as or better than...
I emailed them earlier and already have a reply: 18 hp in a stock 2000 engine! I asked about warrantee issues since previous posts made it clear that rockers have a propensity to void them, and the reply is that They do the warrantee work on Vipers. Sounds like a safe upgrade to me. My next...
Re: Frank\'s clear 3M bra
I may be able to get a roll for less thru a buddy at a Vette catalog sales company; otherwise I'd have to go thru NAPA where I live. It may take me a while, but I'll post a price when I get hold of a definite figure.
Re: Frank\'s clear 3M bra
If someone would like to slit a roll of 3M paint film, I'll look into getting some. The 3M rep will send you installation instructions and tips. I played around with some 'pre-cut' products to see how much finesse it takes. It does take practice and patience, but I'd...
Can anyone with the Dynamic set up comment on the performance? Previous comments regarding Koni vs Dynamic were in favor of the Koni (with the right settings) and uncertain about the latter.
Did anyone finalize the long term results of the 'Tatorizing' treatment?
