I thought I quoted the Fikse rep correctly, and he said their best deal was with tires... but it does sound too good to be true. I'll double check and repost.

CORSA 3" dyno results from APEX Motorports!!

Re: CORSA 3\" dyno results from APEX Motorports!! I'm having difficulty finding dyno comparisons for the Belanger cat-back (without headers). How does it compare to the Corsa's? Will the Corsa's respond as well or better with headers up stream? Thanks, Frank

Deals on RC Vipers and such!

Guys, what are your thoughts on 1:10 or larger scale? 4wd handle better than 2wd? Less maintenace with 2wd? What size engine in the different scales? Thanks, Frank

Click on the avatar. These are Fikse's. The outer portion of the rims are polished. the center's are painted. Get a lot of good comments on how they accent the steel grey. PS Definitely get EBC greens. Frank

Stock Air Tube Has Greater Volumn Than Smooth Tube

Out of curiosity, how much flow occurs thu each throttle body at WOT in stock and engines with bolt ons? Does it correlate with say the old big blocks with Holleys rated at 800 cfm? (100 cfm per cylinder, therefore 500 cfm per throttle body?)

Buying my first viper....two quick questions

I had to choose bet a mildly modified Steel ACR and a Saphire 01. ABS was my primary issue in the beginning, but color wins out for the non-daily driver. I am happier with the steel/stripes than the blue (too dark for me). Single year color choices may make it tough to choose. If you get a...

    Question On Gasoline

FWIW This topic came up in the C5 registry a while back. Bottom line is, the only difference in product is the additive mixture. Interesting recommendation from the die hards: Go with one brand up to a yr at a time. That way if the detergents in one brand fail to remove deposits, another...

A cure for the raspy CDI blues

Ben, 1) Any way to get dB levels? 2) Do the Borlas reduce power that one may gain from high flow cats? In your present case, a few rWHP is a minor fraction of the total. For the rest of us with exhaust bolt-ons even 5 hp would be significant. Thanks for the R&D saga. Frank

    Check Engine Light(temporary solution)

I'm with Marc. Is the failure to heat-up code just a misnomer or is sensor heat truly measured by the system. How close to the exhaust port is close enough?

    Check Engine Light(temporary solution)

According to recent posts, moving the o2 sensor bung closer to the heads should solve it. 8AVETTE has just done it himself on Belangers without removing them from the car. I'll do the same when I can find a performance exhaust place to do it. Frank

Midwest Zone Rendezvous was a blast

A suggestion regarding the fee - how about a spectator fee for those who want to do the social events and get a cool memorabilia bag in addition to the full fee for driving participants? i met a couple gateway members who drove their cars to the event but didn't get to go to the dinners or get...

    Exhuast - Check engine light

As Murphy would have it, my engine light came on for the first time on the morning of the MW renezvous. 3000 miles on the Belanger headered 2000 GTS. O2 sensor came up on the scan. The code was cleared and i got thru the weekend without a light. With hot humid air and poor launch technique i...

Viperrick, what are the rules of engagement for the autox? how many runs, practice laps? Do we get to try the course in our own cars before qualifying in the DC vehicles? Frank

Viper on cover of Playstation 2 Gran Turismo!

I too have been patiently wating for the GT3 to come out on July 11th. I'm not sure if this applies to the above discussion, but in GT2 the Escudo Pikes Peak Version blows everything away: 981 hp/ 690 lb-ft, 1763 lbs, 4wd. put the racing tires on this thing and yawn at everything else. Frank w...

    Auto-X in my Viper

You may want to call Bill Pemberton's (Woodhouse Dodge) teenaged son who excels in Solo II in a Viper. A reference to read is Henry Watts, Secrets of Solo Racing, Loki Publishing Co, 1989. Get to the event early and memorize the track. You'll feel like you wasted your time if you gun it and...

Just got my shipment of Zanio!!!

I just finished my first application of Zaino and have the exact same group of product you do. My car had 2400 miles on it and still turned the clay bar colors. The back (esp over the exhaust) and side sills have the most tar spots and grit that you can feel. I agree with the above: Dawn...

What does everyone do for a living?

I'm a new Viper owner that does hand and orthopaedic surgery. Blessed with a wife that encouraged me to get this car for a release. Probably wanted me to get the midlife crisis stuff out of the way early (damage control...) Always looking for a good hand job Frank

Improved Description of the Viper Engine Calibrator (VEC1), how and why it works...

Sean, Will the VEC eliminate the engine light problems seen in the 2000-01 cars with headers/exhaust? Or will O2 sims and the stock pcm be enough? How much difference does the 'performance' mopar pcm make with the VEC? Frank

Has Dodge considered a HP boost for 2002?

I agree with venom lover's post. The main reason I did not get another C5 was the iminent depreciation each vette owner faces when the next model yr comes out. Just like owning a computer. I leased my first and only vette for 2 yrs and had great difficulty getting any decent price for it...

    Fikse Wheels

My car had Fikse rims put on by the previous owner. They are beautiful on a steel gray car. Only peeve is the extra set of holes for lug nuts. I wonder if they sell aluminum filler plugs for them. Hopefully MGW can come up with a solution. Frank
