You need to use an oil/fat based cleaner - one that breaks down oil and lifts it (an emulsifier). The best (and safest) one I've used is Murphy's Oil Soap...will leave a nice (non-greasy), almost conditioned or moisturized surface afterwards...
Mix 1/4 cup Murphy's in a gallon of warm water -...
I'm waiting the results of the much suggested compression/leak down tests etc....until then, I am shenanigansless, I am without shenanigan, I am shenanigan-free... ;)
Jim
Seriously - I'd do what Ted said and run a compression/leak down test, then go from there...
otherwise (and I can't speak for tucker et al), I'm busting out some more "shenanigans"! :D
Good luck...

Perhaps a 30-60 minute re-enactment video would help? (of the redline shift in question and what you were doing in the hours preceding it)? :dunno: ;)

I just saw a car that fit your "sweet spot" description to a T roll right infront of me at Mecum's auction in St Charles, IL a couple weeks ago. It was a perfect Red 97' GTS - think the hammer dropped at $35,250...

Thats a beautiful machine! I mean it - not a "figure of speech" or "something you say" just because you took the time to share the pics. It really is that nice! The B/W Gen II's are near perfection for my taste - what you've done has just refined it even further. Well done!
I love the...
Just watched it again on DVR with Tara since she didnt get to see it last night. You're right (especially on that road course where he was trying to bring it down from 150'ish in the straights and had them lock-up going into a corner and had to exit) - had that not been a Pro, and was a "normal"...
Excellent point and I'm surprised they produced the show with the footage they canned that day considering how lop-sided every challenge was due to a simple but significant performance/safety issue with one of the Hennessey cars. They should have demanded the car be fixed and that his crew be...
Yeah, that was a bit underwhelming...
They should redo the entire show/matchup - and if they must be modded to the hilt - let them be Heffner cars! My opinion...
Jim
Agreed on all counts! Although you do see alot more FGT's getting the TT (a la Heffner) treatment lately - probably due to Ray's and others 220mph+ 1-mile runs of late (266 in Ray's case). Not that everyone's out to join the 200mph club, its more of an acknowledgement since then of how...
The most "slippery" American exotic at speed is the FGT and it does it without a wing/spoiler - most is accomplished underneath as Phil noted (diffuser etc)...
