Any idea, what can be used to log oil pressure and maybe other data on race track?
All the standard scan tools I found can not log oil pressure.
Is for a 2004 SRT-10 engine.
Perfect would be including software for analysis on the laptop.
This should be the same like Castrol Syntrax Longlife 75W-90 which is mentioned at Castrol page.
Will try to get confirmation from Castrol tomorrow.
I hope to get reply from them.
can not find Castrol Syntorq for SRT-10 gearbox.
is it replaced by other Castrol oil?
according to German Castrol page there can be used Castrol Syntrax Longlife 75W-90 or Castrol Syntrax Longlife 75W-140 :dunno:
Thank you.
I already have a modified oil pan with baffles, otherwise I would buy the one with swing pickup.
Mobile1 15W50 is offered for motor bikes only in Germany. :dunno:
Does anybody know it is the same, or could we also use Castrol TWS 10W60 ?
Sorry for so many questions, but it is the...
I do not look for a cheap one.
It should be reliable and used on track by many owners.
Are you sure about Mobil 1 15W-50 because in Germany it is sold for motor bikes only?
Hello,

The original Mobile 1 0W40
or Castrol TWS 10W60 which we use in the BMW racing cars?

Is there also a preferred oil for the gearbox?
It is for this car...
Hello,
which type of Oil should I use in the SRT-10 engine?
The original 0W40

Could someone please send me the oil pressure data at different rpm or a data logging of the oil pressure?
I need some informations to compare if everything is OK.
Does anybody know more about the relocate kits?
The relocate kit I have here has very small holes.
I am afraid, that the holes could be too small to let enough oil through.
Also the car will be used on track too.
Best regards
Ike
The comlete project makes no sense.
It is just for fun and to see what is possible.
Total weight will be less than 1300kg (2860 lbs) including safety cage, which will be installed this week.
No, I have modified the truck oil pan.
I did not know that the car oil pan is so different before.
Also it is difficult to get parts in Germany and I think there are several parts required to change to car oil pan.
Thank you for your replies.
Did someone install a remote / relocate oil filter kit on the SRT-10?
Which one works good and reliable?
The car is not finished but here you can find several pictures of the build: http://www.bmw-syndikat.de/bmwsyndikatfotos/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=31693
Hello,

Height is maximum 2,5 but the lowest oil filter I found is at 3.
What will be the best solution for oil filter?
1. Smaller oil filter
2. Relocate kit for oil filter like...
