Careful with body shops - often times they don't have a lot of detailers. I would find a high end detailing store and take it there. Just my $.02...

Sensitivity is a rating of how efficiently speakers turn power into sound. If the number is higher, the speaker produces more sound with less power. This design is why the Polk *should* work better with the lower wattage being fed to it by our amplifier, and why the Kicker's should sound...
See, once you start changing a stereo system in a car, you always look to the next thing to upgrade! :D
I agree, that sub is pretty horrible. I read somewhere that someone used a JL 6w0 sub, and only had to trim the console a little bit (probably for the larger magnet). I think that a sub...
I wouldn't. I think either of the three products above will remove the substance from the paint.
How far away are you from Northern VA? If you want to head down this way, I have all those products at my house.

I posted the technical differences, and I believe I mentioned briefly how they translate into real world differences.
The Kickers have a 43hz frequency response, which is 7hz lower than the Polks. Theoretically, they should have a little better bass. However, a 6.5" speaker can't really...
Wow... I don't know if I'd take the Viper from Orlando to Maryland without cruise control!
I've done DC to Orlando/Sebring and back three times now in the past year and a half, and it's not a very fun trip. First time I did it was in my now sold RS 4:
Then in our Long-Term Audi S4...
Holy crap there is some horrible advice being given here.
If your clay bar didn't work, you need to move onto a solvent. There are only a few solvents that you should use on your paint.
You want to start with the least strength product first and then move on up there.
A great spot...
That is actually really what we need. I noticed that with the two-way speakers in the doors, I'm getting a lot of treble. It sounds good still, but I had to crank the treble on the head unit down to -1 otherwise it was overpowering.
What would be the best way to do it is to run a set of...
One thing to note about eBay and other online retailers - most aren't authorized dealers, so that means you won't have a manufacturer backed warranty. Not that it really matters for a $100 set of speakers, but I figured I'd throw that out there.
They seem to be very comparable. As I said...
When I was at my car audio shop, I mentioned to them that the Green was negative and black was positive. Since I had already removed the factory speakers, they tested the leads and infact green was negative. Perhaps this changed on later models, but mine was definitely green for negative.

Oh, I forgot to mention... since you made fun of my previous write up, you can't use this one. Oh, and nice to see you make a post that is somewhat relevant to the topic at hand. ;)
But yes, I saw that some people were using Polk's, and I wanted to try something else. I knew that there had...
I'd say so. However, if the factory stereo is adequate for you, then you may not care to spend the money to do this upgrade. I wanted more from the system, but didn't want to rewire and go all out, so this was the right upgrade for me. I amd happy with the results, especially for the price...
Well, I saw a thread on here asking about speakers, and then I got the bug to install new speakers myself. 30 minutes and $100 later, I have new speakers! :D
Kicker KS600 - $129.99 (Crutchfield). I picked these up locally from Circuit City for $106.99.
Specs on the Kicker KS600's...
Thanks for the link. Crutchfield should sell the adapters, then you won't have to solder/crimp anything.
So you replaced them with a 2 way speaker? I was under the impression that the front speakers were components (since the tweeter is up on the dash).
Wallbanger - did you have to do any other modifications to the system? You are just running the 6.5's in the door and left all the other speakers the same?
I agree that I think those would be the best bang for the buck upgrade, and the install looks like a breeze. I assume the only thing...
I was at my local VW dealer getting the car state and emissions inspected, and I went out for a ride with one of their senior tech's. He heard the noise and said it sounds definitely like a transmission whine. If it was the rear diff, I should be hearing it in every gear.
When I was...
OK, I definitely have power steering fluid in there and not ATF, as it is clear. It was a bit low, so I added some power steering fluid (maybe 200 ml). No change in the noise.
My coolant temps are pretty much locked at 200 degrees - I haven't seen it fluctuate much, if at all.
I'm going to go down to the garage now with my flashlight and see if my fluid is red or clear.
I read through this thread: http://forums.viperclub.org/srt10-srt10-coupe-discussions/567075-2003-power-steering-pump-noise.html
I did have the recall done, and I don't know if they used power steering fluid or automatic transmission fluid when they refilled it. The Recall was done in the...
