Thanks a lot guys. It looks like some guys have different views on this, making it even more confusing on my part, lol.
Any more opinions? Thanks to all whho have shared their thoughts on this with me this far.
And this is exaclty my worry. How much more reliable will it be if I decided to stick to NA and just do a H/C on my car, keeping in mind my driving conditions?
I actually have a daily driver for work. The Viper is my pleasure car. You are probably wondering how I put so many miles on it given that I live in MI and that it is not my daily driver. When I am not at work and it is not a blizzard out, the car is on the road. I will put atleast 50...
Waiting for people to tell me "No problem, you can have a Paxton on, drive it as hard as you want, as long as you want, and you wont have any problems"..:-)
Remember, I am not putting 5K miles per year on this thing, I am putting [i]atleast[i] 15K miles per year.
If I decide to keep it NA and go with a head and cam package for reliability sake:
1) Will the car actually be much more reliable than a SC considering the number of miles I will put on the car and my driving style (I am enjoy racing a lot)?
2) If so, which H/C package do you all...
Larry, thanks for your input.
I was talking to a few buddies about this and some say "With a Paxton, it is only 6 psi, it will be ok" and some say "With your driving style and the number of miles you intend to put on it, the engine is gonna go sooner than later" so I just thought I would get...
What's up guys. I just need to ask one more question before I purchase and install the Paxton.
I drive my car hard, and I drive it a lot. I will most probably put about 15-18K miles/year on the Viper. Now, knowing that, and knowing that I don't baby my car, will a SRT-10 hold up pretty well...
Hmmm, interesting. I thought a SC SRT would be a mid 130's trap car. Thought it would make sense given that stock ones have trapped 123 with 150 less rwhp.
Thanks for the info
Assuming the right driver, the right condition, and a descent 60' (1.7), I would think a 630 rwhp SRT-10 would run mid 10's at 134-137. That would be my guess.
I have never seen a X50 trap at 123.6 mph before. It also cant brake as good as the Viper. It also doesn't look as good. Sorry, a little off topic..:-)
All it takes for a Gen II to run close to even with a Gen III is smooth tubes, K&N's, highflow cats and catback exhaust.
I raced my buddies 98 RT/10 with the above mods in my bone stock SRT and I was barely 1/2 of a car ahead of him at 140 mph. Those suckers get quick with bolt ons..:)
The Murci is a very heavy car. Driver for driver, I am willing to bet that the Viper would beat a Murci to ~130 mph, but after that the aerodynamics and the gearing of the Murci would take over and pass the Viper. jmo
I want to powder coat my rims. I am looking to get a glossy black coating. Has anyone done this on their stock SRT rims? I wonder how it would look.
Thanks
Does the Lambo have better steering feedback than the SRT? If it does, I can only imagine the feeling since the SRT has amazing communication with the road and incredible steering feedback.
Which got more looks?..:-)
I just browsed through thier website and did not see anything in regards to the gears. Can you tell me how much they are for the complete set?
Thanks Richie.
