Hard braking through a turn is the kiss of death. You need to keep weight bias on the rear tires. I learned this and escaped a bad situation on a canyon road. Commit to the grip in the turns.
I have discovered that taking out 1 BAR MAP and replacing it with 2 BAR MAP even with SCT tune scaled at 2 BAR tables does not work so good in my car. Now, why is that? Is it the Split Second Box that gets screwed up? Do I have ot calibrate it to 2.5 DCV from the 5 DCV? Car runs like crap after...
I recently had the battery disconnected to put in a new rear end, haven't driven it much since then. You think that is the reason that I see "incomplete data" That would make sense if so.
I hooked up an OBD scanner and software to my car and under the emmissions section it said that Catalytic converters were "incomplete data" and Oxygen sensors were "incomplete data" as well. The car is a S/C Paxton and has stock exhaust manifolds but could this reading mean that it has no cats...
CoVip, I think it will be easier if you get the Paxton unit amd then scrap the FMU like I have and tune with 2 Bar MAP sensor, Bigger injectors/SCT. Sean Roe and I are going to make some headway here and therefore have alot of the answers already by the time you install and tune.
It is not just the tune but the pulleys too.
I think this is really simple, your car is worth whatever someone else is willing to give you for it.
You have three choices; You either keep it, wait at the current price and maximize your market and hope someone buys it, or lower the price until it...
Go down 2 pulley sizes, get a 2 Bar map sensor, and bring sea level performance to the Rockies. Trust me, yourcar is WAY down on power up here. Oh, and keep it. There will only be so many turbo/supercharged vipers in the world.
SCT 9550 Xcalibrator. I paid 400 for it then found it on EBay for 150. Oh well. I have to re write Split Sec Box this weekend and install my 2 BAR MAP tune from Sean and the throw it on the dyno and fine tune from there.
There is another guy selling 06 S/C on EBay for 60k. He has 27k miles and...
Let's face it, only a very limited number of people will shell out 100k for a "Dodge" anything. If they want new customers, the car will have to be cheaper. The performance trend seems to be smaller displacement with turbos or S/C to increase performance/efficiency.
Each Viper is an incredible...
Tuning up here is a bitch. Sean Roe and I are going to give it a go with the Paxton FMU unit. I got a laptop, SS software, SCT, scanxl software for data logging. Going to tune this 10 lb pulley up here in outer space... I am going to ditch the FMU but for right now we are going this route.
I disagree with your disagreement. Alot of guys buy these cars and know nothing more than where to put the gas in. Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche are pedigree cars. Viper is still just a Dodge (Fiat).
I think you need to find car brokers that cater to European, Asian, Middle Eastern and Russian clients. Those guys LOVE American Muscle. I have a friend who sold his 08' coupe to a German buyer through a car broker.
Expand your market.
CV, I am in finance and asset management, I need the data logger to capture MAP sensor voltage across RPM range and corresponding A/F ratios.
I got a 2 BAR MAP sensor as well.
I will receive the SCT tuner next week. I also ordered a data logging software and OBD2 scanner. I spoke with Sean Roe and he is putting me in the right direction. I will be back on the dyno next weekend with some results.
George, I would advise you not to dyno your car here as you may discover that your perfect tune is quite imperfect up here! I need a data logging device to get someone out of state to tune this car. It is very frustrating.
CV, I called SCT and to get custom tune and they told me to go to local...
Oh, and there is 15% less oxygen at altitude as well. Just another reason my car is running rich (at boost), no air. Can someone, anyone tell me how to fix this?? I cannot lean out the FMU disk to 4:1, what can I do with ignition timing? Spark duration, injector duration??
Unless the SCT guys want to donate their time then I don't know if I am up for it. I honestly think that even with scrapping the FMU you will have variances in power AND boost depending on temperature. I will try and validate this with another dyno run at a lower ambient temp. BTW Glynn nor the...
You know, I thought about all this and spoke with Glynn P. About it and honestly I am going to put the stock pulley back on and call it a day. Gonna keep the car in the garage on hot days as it runs really rich. I can live with leaving all the power on the table, 5lbs boost and running on the...
