Just out of curiosity what is the max rwhp you can obtain from a Naturally Aspirated V10 without boring the block?
I have heard that the ported Stryker heads can add almost 150 rwhp.
Reason I ask is I was thinking of building my V10 up before going Twin Turbo. Figured I would start with the...
Re: More axed rummors for the Viper
Nah, I don't think Chrysler is that stupid. The Viper is a niche product and they don't exactly have anything close to filling that void.
The way I look at it you need a car to compete in each niche.
At the top you have the Viper which is the Halo car and...
I have 3 kids and I just bought my Viper in Feb. As long as you have a daily driver for the whole family, she really doesnt have a leg to stand on.
You need to work the angle that the Two seater is just for Husband and wife. No kids.
You really have to ask yourself a really important question. When you look at an 1969 Muscle Car, are you really looking to see how many miles it has on it? Absolutely not! You want to see a solid frame, running engine with no problems and matching numbers. After that everything else is...
Yep I just put mine in a month or two ago. There is no factory harness so you have to buy a generic one then splice into the harness you just bought.
Everything else fits nicely. I have the Ipod and the HD radio tuner installed.
Only problem I had with my Car audio is I keep getting bad AMPS...
Personally, I feel the company would be stupid to cease production of the Viper. If the Viper is not making money then perhaps they need to increase the MSRP. If the vehicle is sitting because it is expensive to buy, then they need to reduce production.
Bottom line is a company needs a Halo...
I really think half the problem is people not correcting fast enough when they hit the point of loosing control.
I think the best preperation I have had to deal with the Viper is driving an old Trans Am with two bald tires in the snow. Every time I accelerated (even like a grandma) the back...
Coming out of the corner has a lot to do with weight and lateral g. Accelerating out of the corner might be a bit better with a Quaff. Tires would make a big difference but I dont think too many use run flats at the track.
Xanadu has a really good point. I am in favor of some options that make the car a bit safer. ABS, Traction control would definately be a plus. Yes TC should be on an on/off switch. Yes the Viper is a raw car, a driver's car but sometimes I think we as Viper owners use the "raw" as a self...
Unless you really need to sell it, I would keep it. The Gen II's are getting rare. Only 11k made and every year a few get wrecked. That is not that many cars and Dodge only pumps out a little over a thousand each year and those are GEN III's
I bought my car capsule last week. Haven't opened the box yet. Soon as the snow flies I am putting it in the bubble. Once it goes in, it won't come out until the snow melts and we get two good rain days to wash away all the salt.
lol this is definately a funny post.
First off a Viper is one of those cars that falls into many many different categories:
1) It is a muscle car - defined as big powerful engine with lot's of torque (400+ rwhp check)
2) It is a Sports car - usually a two seater with great handeling (check)
3)...
Ok, I was talking to some local Viper owners and they said that it might be very hard for me to find 17" Kumo V700's. He mentioned that everyone is going to larger rims sizes etc.
I kind of like the look of these CCW's but they are a pain to keep clean. My fronts are good for another season but...
U could dye those focal speakers red to match!
I went with MB QUarts simply because you cannot fit a grill over the Focal k2's and with my big ole size 12 feet they wouldnt last long with me kicking em all the time getting in and out!
Yep I agree, most Vipers are wrecked from inexperienced drivers taking it out for a ride.
My wife can drive it, but she doesnt even want to.
I let one friend who is a mechanic drive it with me in the car.
But anyone else I wouldn't. Too many people get them wrecked that way.
I would go with an 01 or an 02, from what I hear it is cheaper and easier to mod to forged pistons than it is to add ABS. Not an expert but that is what I heard
Does your car have Air conditioning? Wind shield Wipers? Glass Windows? Stereo?
See their is a slight problem with your concept of a car Chuck. You seem to want certain things but then draw the line with others. Sounds to me like you just want a race car.
Most people who buy Vipers...
