Going High Tech with a Viper is just evolution. What makes a car less of a Viper? I would have to say anything that takes away from the car's ability to be fast and loud. That is pretty much the crux of it. If it has tons of power and shake's the earth when it comes rolling in then you can...
Hence the reason I work out 6 days a week. I never leave my Viper for more than 10 minutes out of sight unless it is at an autoshow where many of my friends are watching it.
As for Driving, well one of the advantage of being a large male with big arms is they never say anything. Not saying...
Selling a Gen II Viper right now is just a bad idea. Most cars hit their maximum depreciation at 10 years after they roll off the lot. After 10 years they keep up with inflation then if they are a demand item they will start to increase in value.
Once you go over 12k miles and the vehicle is...
Car very very clean, road that tire rolls on is very dirty! Taking dirty tire and putting it in the clean trunk space, yeilds introduction of lot's of dirt. Espeacially if it is the rear wheels which are Kumo V7000 that stick to everything foul on the road.
Just say no to putting your road...
I guess you have to view the spare tire in a slightly different light.
1) Do I plan on jacking up my viper on the highway/road, getting all dirty from handeling the old tire and then plan on getting back in my nice clean car.
2) I have haggerdy insurance which provides me with flatbed towing if...
Yeah but technically, they are not installed properly since their is no grill on them. At first they had them installed just like that but the problem is how long till that nice bullet middle cone gets clobbered by someone's foot getting into or out of the vehicle? I am a pretty big guy with...
Did you have to modify it to fit? IF so what did you have to do. I tried Focal's K2's and they didnt fit right. Had to build the door up and then it looked pregnant! The Quarts mounting depth is 2.5" vs 3" for the K2. I am hoping I can get some input before I order Quarts. If you replaced...
I just went and upgraded my Head unit, new amp and new speakers. I tried to put the Focal's 165 K2P, but they had to build out almost an inch to make them fit. I think the mounting depth is like 3" on those components. Anyone install MB Quart's Q series in the doors? (2002 GTS). I am...
The Ford GT will always have a slight advantage in turning due to the mid engine mount and lighter weight. The Vipers only real positive in the turns is it has wider rear wheels that give it a slightly better lateral skid than the Ford GT.
Ford cheated they used a supercharger. Without the...
Viper really are not daily drivers. Therefore when you buy a Viper you might as well tack that cost on the cost of your daily driver and that is what gives the impression of being wealthy. A Corvette over the years as become more of a daily driver type car for southern folk who don't see snow...
I actually was faced with the decision of buying a Final Edition Dodge Viper or a Ford GT.
I picked the Viper for several reasons.
1) Cost, I got into an 02 for less than 70k, while I would have to ante up close to 200k for the Ford GT.
2) Insurance Premiums on the Viper were relatively...
For the most part cars depreciate till about 10 years after they were bought. Then they start to go up in value. Just remember their are only about 11,000 generation II Vipers on the road. Maybe less with the numbers that were wrecked. The car will with 100% certainty be a collector's type...
Ok I bought a 2002 Final Edition in Febuary. Why is it that I can't find a model of my car? You would think that since Dodge's trademark color is red and the Final Edition is a speacial car. Why am I having difficulties locating a model!
Sorry but at the car shows I see all these guys with...
I don't think you would have any problems getting to 650 rwhp with any Gen II Viper. The Roe might be harder to get to 650rwhp with cast pistons as you are limited on how much boost you can apply. I think the Paxton will give you more with less boost.
I am not a supercharger expert but most of...
I am too smart to street race. Play a little from a red light to 60 in a 45mph zone is about as far as I get breaking the law.
However, I do eventually plan to someday go to the track to see what the beast can do.
Ran into the actual owner of that Vette, the guy with the loud mouth was either his friend or relative. The car is far from stock as it has a 504 engine with Nitrous. He has a roll bar and Hoosier DOT slicks. Rear End is pretty heavy duty as well. I think he said he was pushing 800rwhp.
Few more...
Yeah as long as it doesn't rain I will probably be going back to Duff's cruise night on Monday nights. Actually it is Orchard Park Road, not southwestern I believe.
Anyways been taking my 02 Viper out to local cruise nights around town (Buffalo, NY). One of the reasons I bought the Viper was it makes a great conversation piece as well as a nice toy to drive and a whole bunch of other reasons.
So anyways I go to Duff's which is a famous chicken wing place...
