New R&T says 911 Carrera S with 355 hp and weighing 3300 pounds will do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds but says the Viper at 120 pounds more and 145 hp more will take 4.0 seconds. I'm no expert on Porsches but something doesn't seem exactly right here. I realize the twin turbo'd Porsches are extremely...
I for one would be interested in a low key "Supercharged" graphic. There are so many high horsepower cars out there now it would be nice to get some additional respect that comes with being blown.
Actually my car was not quite a collectors car like your friends but was fairly close. Sold it a year and one half ago with 547r HRE's and new Pilots and 15k miles for $51,500. It's all about timing and who wants a particular car bad enough. If your friend is willing to wait I wouldn't be...
You can ask for referrals without calling one of our vendors ( who has done business successfully with most, not all, of the Viper community since long before you even registered on this board) a "pos". Grow up dude.
Have Dan Cragin check it out at DC Performance in LA. If it hasn't had the head gasket work done he'll do it right. Don't know what he'll charge but I once had a quote from another Viper tech of around $1700. Even if you pay for this it looks like you got a great deal on the car.
Jon B has some "caps" that fit on your existing shocks that will lower the car a little less than an inch I believe. Check his site for price ( which I think is somewhere between $200 and $300 ). If you need/want more lowering it'll be big buck time but you may want to try these first.
Re: Not as happy as I thought I\'d be with new HRE\'s
Had the 547R's 2 or 3 years ago and also thought the finish could have/should have been better. Sold the car but now have another car which I just put Forgeline VR1's on and I'm much happier with the finish-- full polish and look great...
I posted a while ago reiterating that earlier posts said they were having good luck with Hurst shifters and my reply is now missing. Who did I pi-s off ?
Recent posts say Hurst is the answer. Dave Jenkins is installing one on mine next week-- after six Vipers I'm willing to try a solution. Been a problem since 1992.
