Weird Coolant Temp Problem.
The car is most likely running hot. Once you let the tank go dry, air will enter the system. Has to be bled (burped) out.- Ulysses

right front wheel lock up

I haven't done one on a Viper, but usually the mirror is attached to the back plane by simple sliding latches. You have to carefully pry the bottom of the glass with a screwdriver wrapped in cloth out towards you. Looking in, you should see how the latches from the mirror latch onto the...- Ulysses

Monterey Viper events around Aug 16-18th?
Definitely were a lot of Ferrari's there. They closed up much of Ocean Blvd. in Carmel for some stuff on the 18th. Fun wathcing some of the cars unload from the trailers the night before.- Ulysses

Yes, it is a bunch of hooey. And to make it worse, most people working at the DMV don't know the regs petaining to this and they might give you a hard time. Getting the smog ref to approve usually doesn't cause any hassle because he works for the BAR and his word is gold. They almost always pass...- Ulysses

DANG IT! Oil leak dripping inside passenger frame rail at rear of engine.
Look it over really carefully, up and down the engine. If it isn't apparent where it's coming from, clean it up and drive it for a day then check it again. I hear there is some UV dye you can put in the oil as well. Most likely thing is you have a bad oil pan or valve cover gasket or something...- Ulysses

I'ld probably talk to that engineer again, or some other engineer at Mahle, since conventional cast pistions ("eutectic") were used on early model cars. Car manufacturers who use cast pistons on late model cars use hypereutectic pistons. Plus it would make no sense to go from a forged piston to...- Ulysses
