The worst thing is, I only found out when changing my valve covers, and I only thought I had one spring gone
lucky I have a borescope, looked inside all the cylinders, all valves ok and hold pressure when connected
to an airline
They were fitted new in 2004 with the car at 0 miles, no valve damage, all close and seal perfectly, had a look inside.
I suppose the fact that the inner springs are all intact saved the engine
Looking for something in the picture below, which is for an LS engine,
does anyone here have this tool kow the measurement between the 2 holes?
I need something that can reach 91mm between the holes
the puller type compressor is crap
thanks
sam
Big up to RSi,
They identified the valve springs for my 2004 built engine, supplied and sent
them to me in the UK ordered Wednesday arrived Friday, excellent service
Thanks guys
Sam
Is there any way to identify the valve springs, I got a broken one, but my engine build
sheet just says heavy duty valve springs, going to change with head on,and i dont want to change the whole lot.
thanks
sam
High performance RSI built 2004, looks like the spring has been busted for ages, car drives perfect?????
gonna look inside at the piston, if looks ok, just gonna change the springs
more f***N hassle
If your prepared to work it, it will come out great, had to refit the internal mounting nuts, straighten the 2 ends and prep and paint it, cost me $800 to do this, but its now superb.
Oh yes, its now rainproof
