I have been using custom valved Penske systems since 1996. They are the Rolex of shocks. Price point is higher than the MCS. Lots of options, PM me if you want some info.
The MCS systems are much improved over the early JRZ-Moton systems.
Thanks everyone, I am really looking forward to the event and meeting many new owners. A special thanks to the Southern California Viper Club for helping with the event and Scandinavian Coachcraft for sponsoring the BBQ.
There are some aftermarket VVT cams that are being tested now that should be available in the near future. The issue is they are being developed for racing applications and programmable engine management systems, not very practical for street use. I am currently working with an ACRX that will be...
SPECIALTY PERFORMANCE TEAM at WILLOW SPRINGS with RALPH GILLES
January 5th, 2013
Hi all its Dan Cragin (formerly DC Performance) I am launching a new business, Specialty Performance Team (SPT) in Alhambra, CA, which will focus exclusively on Viper, SRT and McLaren customers. I have joined up...
I have tried all the differential options and always go with the OS Giken Superlock. It has a seemless transition from lock to unlock, runs cooler than a gear diff and has exceptional tractability.
The easiest way to see if the computer is reseting at start-up is to look at "starts since reset". If it reads 0 then the computer is reseting. PCM voltage can be checked at the PCM during cranking. If it drops too low you have a supply or voltage drop issue. This is all stuff that the dealer...
This should be an easy fix. I deal with CARB readiness failures all the time. We put the car through a drive cycle on the dyno, then force it to run the evaporative tests. Unless there is something else wrong with the car, its pretty simple.
If the car runs low on coolant, the expansion tank gets pressurized with steam and cracks! Replace the tank, cap, thermostat and a 50/50 mix of new coolant and distilled water.
Hope this helps.
A little exhaust trivia here. We remove the crossover exhaust on the 03-06 models. It frees up a little power and reduces heat.
On the 08-10 models with headers/ with or without cats (track only). We found adding the crossover increased torque by 30 in the mid to high rpm range without any loss...
Mopar Performance did have a controller for the Gen 3 that complimented a MP cam and exhaust package. They also had numerous Competition Coupe calibrations that were loaded for differing tracks and altitudes. These were only available to the race teams.
Hey Folks,
Here is a link to a track car I have in the classifieds. Its like brand new and cost a pretty penny to build. My good friend just does not have time to use it and its been hardly used for years. Great value...
First off, you will get the most benefit from a cam change with ported cylinder heads and a lifter upgrade. I always prefer to remove the engine, although it can be done in the car. With the engine out you can easily degree the cam and figure the compression ratio. It also gives you a chance to...
If you do not have an aftermarket swing pickup oil pan, then I would run an oil that will give you some extra protection. Race oils like Motul 20-50w have a high Molybendium content that can resist bearing scuffing from a momentary loss of oil pressure.
The writing is on the wall when it comes to smog and aftermarket parts. In past years there was kind of a gray area, but now they have cracked down really hard on the smog stations and the technicians are much less likely to look the other way. They could go to jail. California is the worst as...
If you put the car on a rack and look up under the engine you will be able to see the head gaskets sticking out from the side of the head. The replacement gaskets are black MLS (multi layer steel). the original gaskets are brown (composite). They tend to degrade over time. If you service your...
Yes, you can use the stock primary cats and they will work great and flow well, plus they most likely will outlast the aftermarket cats. You cannot package all 4 cats back in the system but you can modify the secondary cats for a 3 inch inlet and put them in the system. Most likely you will pass...
