Hey Track Rats....
I want to extend an invitation to all VIPERS to gang up... I mean drive on course for a Viper/vette/Porsche track day.
I have been working with Bill Neal, the organizer of the track group 10/10ths. Myself, along with several other guys from the STL VC, have attended several...
Hey....
I met a lot of you at your track events this past year at Autobahn. (I drove an 08 blue/black aero coupe)
Since I have driven on track with your club, I know you have some very competant (fast) drivers.....
That is why I wanted to extend an invitation for us to gang up... I mean drive...
Thanks for the info. That link has the "power cut" microswitch I was referring to. The site also has some other related parts and info as well.
I know the Hollinger and Emco can handle more power. Good for a TT or blower car. But they are atleast $10K
higher.
This seq. trans. would be going...
Vegas is running a big HP UGR TT car. Power levels make a lot of difference here.
You don't need a stand-alone ECU to shift???? Are you referring to throttle by wire?
Otherwise, there are several options to momentarily cut power to shift.
I thought they were crazy expensive too. I have always heard $20-30K so I never looked into it.
I have looked all over the internet and I am coming up with similar number$...
For instance...
Does anybody have any info on these? Better yet, anybody use one?

Ummmm....
Does your license plate mean something different in the United Kingdom than it does in the US?
Because that is negative or "Corvetteish" over here.....:dunno:
Splitter looks good though....
Well said Plum.....:2tu:.
Most tuners will "experiment" with different calibrations to get just the right tune for the driver . The owner may want the tune to be a "safe" tune which would be optimal for street use. You can also tune closer to the edge for track use. You can somewhat do this...
Goin' on a year...... Still no numbers????
This can't be good.....:dunno:
It's winter and I am looking to do this mod......:dunno::eater::dunno::eater:
That's kinda what I was thinking. My "not to exceed" price for the cage only is $8K.
Since the car will be apart in the shop, I am going to get some Delrin bushings cut, adjustable tie rodends etc....
You know how it goes...."While we're in there, might as well"....
Wait a minute...
Thanks F8L, I was just doing a search for your thread....:D
I have referred to it several times as I am going basically the same route you did with your car. Thanks again for doing such a good job of documenting and photographing the build.
I planned to give David a call for sure. I saw some...
No doubt, the X cars are made very well. I'm lucky enough to have two track buddies here in STL that have them. I've studied them extensively.
I am currently building another car with a 25/3 drag style cage. Believe me, I know they are expensive.....
Magnus... Yor car is getting a...
I've got a quote to put one in my 08 coupe track car in a couple weeks. A cage similar to the ACR-X.
After the build on my "might as well" Gen 2 car, thought I would check here to see what kind of money people are paying elsewhere to get one installed.
Thanks.... :eater:
It wasn't really that difficult. I drew a line 1" inside of the outside edge of splitter. Then drew second line 2" in from outside edge. Then drew 45% angle between the two lines where I thought they looked good on the car. Sanded the edge smooth and painted with "Rally black" paint.
This is the Autoform fascia/splitter. The top photo is the way it comes from AF. It seemed a little too big for the street so I modified it. I cut 1" off the front edge and 2" out of the center. This also made the splitter a lot more street friendly...
No, it is very dangerous. There will be several people on here that will tell you the same thing.
They will be along shortly....:D.
Might check similar threads at the bottom of this page for the same answer....
