Met With The (Hulk) Lou Ferrigno he had a Hummer To my Viper

He's deaf enough to need an interpreter most of the time. A late friend of mine used to interpret for him on occasion. I think my girlfriend (who is also deaf) said he only retains 15% of his hearing. That may have been my friend (a child of deaf adults) who said that, now that I think of it...

Met With The (Hulk) Lou Ferrigno he had a Hummer To my Viper

I know this is an odd question but how good is he at lip-reading? Or did he have an interpreter with him? For those who don't know, Lou Ferrigno is deaf. --Rob

    Dyno'd the Viper

Re: Dyno\'d the Viper Wait, 800 miles??? Eight HUNDRED? That car's barely broken in. Is it even a good idea to dyno a car with miles that low? Unless you're trying to establish a baseline of some kind, I wouldn't dyno a car with miles that low. Factory break-in calls for no more than 1/2...

Parts rack has some rude employee.

I hate to keep going back to the DeLorean days but...We had an ex-enthusiast who started his own DeLorean business long ago. From what I hear he used to be a nice guy. The problem was he'd get tons and tons of requests and questions from people who didn't even own a DeLorean. He eventually...

    Wheel Alignment

The factory strongly recommends that the bump-steer be set whenever an alignment is done. I haven't heard why this is necessary but it was re-iterated by one or two Viper techs I talked to. This is something that is never done by places like goodyear. I'd say find a race-experienced shop and...

Guess what! I bought a MIG Welder! Watch out!

AB, I have a similar unit and have done quite a bit of work with it. Nothing professional, just messing around with various cars. And no I haven't used it on the Viper. I'll throw in my 2 cents: 1. The argon gas DOES make a difference. Welding with the flux core wire creates alot of slag...

    '94 RT/10 for under $20K

Re: \'94 RT/10 for under $20K Obvious scam guys. Play along and I bet the next e-mail asks you to send the money via Western Union or some such. Posts like this could potentially damage the value of the lower-end cars though. People will say "But I saw one for under 20K on the Viper Club...

Tonneau cover by Grilletech or Ryan Walsh--warning

I recently bought a tonneau cover off e-bay and MAN what a piece of crap. I ordered the thing in February and by May 1st it still wasn't here. I got no response to my e-mails to the guy so I had to go snooping around the 'net to find his numbers and address (both work and home). I called and...

    Clutch pedal ignition problem

The clutch sensor is actually very easy to remove. I have no idea why they say it has to be replaced with everything else. Probably because they make more money that way, right? Anyway, placing a small spring around the bottom of the clutch actuation rod fixes this problem. 10 minute job.

Does anyone in here run their radiator fan all the time to help with coolin

Re: Does anyone in here run their radiator fan all the time to help with co In general there are only a few accessories that draw enough power to overload a running alternator if left on. They're cooling fans and a rear window defroster. If you hadn't noticed, most cars have a switch on the...

    120.00to bal. tires. worth it?

I just put all 4 tires on my car myself using the Hunter GSP9700 road force balancer. I will tell you that the Viper's large rear tires are often a BEAR to get balanced, even with a machine as advanced as this. The wheels are so thick you have to use a spacer to get them to clear the machine's...

Need cruising partner from VA. to Tators BBQ

Biff! Haven't run into you in a while. What time are you leaving for this thing and how long a drive is it? I'm considering going. Oddly enough, one of the clerks at the DMV mentioned your car this morning. --Rob

    Mr. Clean AutoDry Car Wash?

Well, I finally got around to using this thing. I will say that there are NO spots on the Viper now, not even on the glass! On the other hand, I'll second the opinion that using the Mr. Clean soap didn't seem to get the car as clean as other methods. As a matter of fact, the brand new sponge...

Do you tip your Viper tech?

Well, I've only taken my Viper in once and I didn't get the chance to tip the guy. I couldn't find him when I picked up the car. The question is, is there a point at which you STOP tipping? I mean, you don't tip the owner of a restaurant, nor the pilot of the airplane, right? Would you tip...

Replacing clutch - can it be done in a garage?

I just did this this past summer and it's not a big deal. A few tips: 1. The manual fails to mention that the transmission disconnects from the bell housing BEFORE being removed. In other words, leave the bell housing attached to the engine and remove the transmission, then remove the bell...

    Mr. Clean AutoDry Car Wash?

Has anyone else tried the new Mr. Clean AutoDry Car Wash product? I picked one up the other day but haven't tried it yet. It's basically a large nozzle that you hook up to a hose and it filters the water used in the final rinse of your car. Supposedly this eliminates water spots and the need...

    Door open sensor/switch?

I removed the door panel and the latch mechanism but that's just a matter of three torx bolts you take out from the side of the door. You have to remove the top seat belt mechanism to have enough room to take the latch mechanism out. If you've done any work like this before this is an easy...

    Door open sensor/switch?

Well, I got no responses to this so I figured it out myself. Here's the situation: The latch mechanism inside the Viper door has another black plastic piece attached to the top of it. This piece contains a sensor that senses when the latch isn't fully latched. There are gear-like teeth on...

    Door open sensor/switch?

I've got a problem with my '94 RT/10 acting like the driver's door is open all the time. The dome light stays on and the door chime dings constantly unless I unplug it. I had the door panels off recently to install door poppers but forgot to figure out how the sensor works. From what I...

    Side curtain repairs

I have two sets of stock side curtains for my '94 RT/10. One of them is really scratched up and I was wondering...has anyone considered having a shop replace the plastic piece? They looke like they're simply sewn in so I'd imagine any upholstery shop could do it. After alll, the rest of the...

    Rocking Engine

I just put a new clutch in my '94 a few months ago and now I've noticed that the gear shift lever moves much more than it used to when I rev the engine. Looks like I might have torn the motor mounts? I had someone (a non-Viper, Viper-owning mechanic) tell me a while back that movement in the...

Windshield Wiper Motor acting strange... anyone have this happen to them?

Actually there's nothing special about these motors. Mine were acting very strange about a year ago. I removed the motors, disassembled them and cleaned all the extra grease off the sensors. Took maybe an hour. You'll have to cut some silicone sealant to get the sensors out so be sure to...

    94 R/T ....CRACKED INTAKE

I just noticed you're in Fairfax, Va. I'm in Alexandria. Let me know if you want a hand putting that intake on. I have a fully equipped garage if you don't. Call RonB at the parts rack to get the part. He's one of the best in the business. --Rob [email protected]
