Possibly picking up an 03 SRT... advice please

I wouldn't worry about resale just because you're the third owner. A lot of these types of cars go through owners much more frequently than your everyday sedans. Guys get bored, want the newer model, get divorced, get a fat bonus, and BINGO, it's on to a new ride.

    Ported heads on my 08

GM cars have TM (torque management) that can be tuned out. Unfortunately, HP Tuners hasn't brought (or was unable to bring) out an excellent tuning software package for Mopar, at least last I heard. Does anyone know if the SCT software can get rid of TM?

which one? EBC - Hawk - PFC - Pagid

FWIW, I am running the Hawk HPC pads on the front, and they produce virtually no dust. I still have the factory pads on the rear and as small as they are and as little braking as they do, they still produce MUCH more dust than the Hawks.

    Car Show Signs?

C'mon Ted, you KNOW that anyone who knows Vipers or is halfway knowledgeable about modern muscle will be like, "950hp my ass!":shhh2: I suppose for a sign, it's as good as it gets, except for a little too long/too much detail (pedal covers:rolleyes:).

    Car Show Signs?

I'm with ViperJon on this one!:lame: Maybe (and that's a big maybe) if you had a really weird or rare car, like the Citroen that was parked next to me this Sunday, it might make sense. Who doesn't know what a Viper is, and does anybody really care that it's "1 of xx" in peash!t green?

    WORLDS BEST WAX

Good advice, Paul. I didn't mean to imply that I'm hitting the Viper every other weekend with the buffer in search of that perfect finish. With a car that's actually driven, a perfect finish will never happen (just ask my front bumper). More like a good once-over once or twice a year...

    WORLDS BEST WAX

I've actually had decent results with the traditional green tub of Turtle Wax, and wouldn't hesitate to use it on a daily driver, however fancy/expensive it may be. It is a little tough to get off, and harder to apply unless you take it out of the tub and rub it onto a pad to use with a buffer...

how do you buy from a private party?

Some states have a nice Bill of Sale that you can print out. Some will also require it to be signed in the presence of a notary. The SELLER is the one who's required to sign the title before it can change hands. You can put whoever's name you feel like in the "Buyer" section before you go to...

    WORLDS BEST WAX

I've had experience with the PC and it simply can't get out all the imperfections in my paint. It will get out 80% of them, but it's taken a lot of work just to reach that point. My hood still has some stubborn swirls. I will be giving it to my father to learn how to use. I splurged and my...

    "Sticky" gearbox?

On a more serious note, change the fluid and throw in a B&M. If you do it yourself, you'll be out $250 and an afternoon of time. It's a lot less than a tranny repair, which you'll find out is your problem if your shifting is still FUBAR after you've done the mods. Also, while I know it's...

    Help with shift knobs

Scott, there are some knobs that slide completely over the threads (that is, they ae not secured by the threads), allowing the knob to sit lower on the shaft (don't you love it when I talk dirty?) by another 1-2". Most Momo knobs will work and are secured by an adapter and 3 hidden allen head...

    "Sticky" gearbox?

    i hate to say it

You may think Ferrari's are exclusive, but they produced around 20,000 355/360's. With only anecdotal evidence, I'd say that most enthusiasts and Viper owners would view the Z06 (and soon the ZR1) as the main "competitor" of recent Vipers, both in terms of performance and sales. I...

Another is this rice thread, but different, with PICS

Off topic: Actually, the ZR1 makes extensive use of REAL carbon fiber, including the roof, hood, front spoiler, front fenders, side rocker panels and rear spoiler. Additionally, it uses the largest carbon-ceramic brakes to come standard on any car — 15.5-in. in front and 15.0 in. at the rear...

    More Chrysler Layoffs

I don't know where you get the 28mpg #?? The Viper is rated 16mpg combined city/hwy, the same as the ZR1, and the Challenger rated at a ridiculous 15mpg. The ZR1 is slated for 2000 units/yr. worldwide. Why do you have loyalty to an inanimate object (company) unless you work for them? Do...
