Probably not. Most dealerships do not do glass work. If they do, they will probably charge you MSRP of the windshield, or in the $800 range as far as I can recall.
The ~$500 figure sounds about right when going with a company like Safelite that comes to your home/work and does the work on...
Great post! Many good points. Eurotek definitely gets 2+ for rust and packaging... Receving goods damaged in shipping ruins the whole experience, even if the damage is nitpicking minor...
No need to have it in gear. Let the car stand still (in neutral) and floor it. You'll see the rev limiter in action almost instantly :D I would advice to let the engine fully warm up first though...
Not only that: I just noticed that my 2008 gas cap is missing the text "Premium Fuel Only". My 2006 cap did have that text, and so does the blue 2008...
Seems like Dodge ran out of SRT-10 specific caps and used "generic" caps instead?! Hmmm....
Peter
They were SUPER-easy to remove after the car had been outside (with the top on) for about 3 hours in the afternoon a warm sunny day here in NC (~90 degrees). They simply peeled off in seconds. However, it left a film of sticky glue residue. I used 93% isopropanol (aka rubbing alcohol from the...
Definitely like them better than the regular 5-spokes, however I still prefer the 08' razor wheels or the 06' 10-spoke wheels. In my world the 08' razors are better then the previous 10-spokes, because the 06' 10-spoke wheels were very similar to the ones offered on 04' ZO6 corvettes...
The value of the Protection Group is questionable. The factory mats are small. Aftermarket Lloyds mats (~$100) are better. My dealer ordered my car with the Protection Group option. Fortunately I did not have to pay for it. I immediately switched to the Lloyd mats. See this thread for a picture...
Hello,
Can anybody help me with the part numbers for the gas cap tether and hook?
I just read this thread about 2008s shipping from the factory with a tether and a hook like my 2006 did. After having a closer look at my 2008, I see that it actually does have a hole in the gas cap plus a...
I agree 100%. My wife happened to enter the room when I was watching this, and just like me she could hardly believe her eyes....
I thought you could not make a ricer out of a Viper. This guy just proved me wrong!:wow:
BTW, the wing *does* look good on the yellow coupe!
Not bad, but I would prefer 8.4 liter bags to match the engine size. I believe Pam's bags only total 2.4 liters or so... :D (Sorry about this OT post. I just could not resist replying to this...)
I'd buy that explanation, because the fuel gauge arrow was about at the same level as when the warning light came on in my '06 (it was not below red, more on the upper side of red), which means that at least in theory it could go even lower...
I drove every tank on my '06 (7200miles) until the...
Yeah, but in the 2006, 3.5 gallons left in the tank (when the light came on) translates to 1/5 left in the tank. I doubt that's bad for the fuel pump.
But in the 2008 the light obviously means there's less than 1/16 left! :omg:
Quite a difference, and definitely worth a heads up!
I guess the solution is to buy the 06 parts and fix it. I expect that I will have the car repainted or sanded at some point becase the paint job sucks. It's like being back in a Corvette (thinking about the orange peel).
Frankly it's all about the car de-evolving. After spending 30k on upgrading from a 2006 I would expect to get a car that is at least as good as my old one
2006 roadsters had a hook on the lid, so that the cap would be on a safe distance...
There are quite some downgrades in the 2008... The paint has terrible orange peel and a few defects, the top has flaws, and then some things have de-evolved, like the removed gas cap tether and hook... :crazy2:
I think it's recommended to have the first oil change around 500-1000, and after that every 3000 miles...
0W40 for the 2006 and 2008. (2005 and older takes something else).
Has anybody else noticed this? Today I filled up approx 3 miles after the light came on. There was room for 15.5 gallons in the tank, which obviously means there was less than a gallon when the warning light came on! (The '08 supposedly has a 16gal gas tank?)
This is quite a difference from...
Fairly easy, but you have to step out of the car and open up the trunk. (Trick: if you set the parking brake the trunk can be opened with the remote without turning off the engine).
