Went by an Indiana State Policeman on I65 last week, who was obviously using his radar gun to wave some speeders over to the median for a chat. Very fortunately, I was not one of them. :D Not once did my V1 make a peep! Went to the Valentine website and learned about POP radar...
Here are the instructions from Roe for Gen II (Gen2 - Run 7):
"Once both throttle bodies are installed, set the adjuster screw on the throttle linkage so that the passenger’s side begins to open as soon as the driver’s side begins to open. Lock the jam nut in place. Once set, check for smooth...
When I bought my 01, I was sure that I would never mod it. That lasted about 3 weeks. A guy at the gas station asked me to rev it, and neither one of us was very impressed by the sound. I keep all the old parts, but I'll never put them back on.
Once you get started on mods, it becomes your...
Interesting. I'm curious on the root cause. A couple of hundredths of a volt variance at WOT or idle should be expected. When measuring voltage, you will see at least that much variance with any real world measurement device.
I am curious why you would record 0.8V to 4.0V vs. the manual's...
Am I seeing things? I was driving on the northside of Indy last week, and saw a grey RT10 that seemed to have rear wheels that stuck out of the wheel wells. What is the widest wheels anyone has run on the Viper?
Ahh, the quick connect fuel line. I suspect most of us struggled with that. It is a bear to connect because you can't see what you are doing, and have to reach way down to get to the line. Just be patient. If you want to see what you are trying to do, buy a fuel filter and practice coupling...
I did an SC install last month. I too was surprised to find exactly what you did. I installed a catch can, and problem solved. BTW, do a search. There are many alternatives for the catch can, and not all will cost you $200.
I'm about to get new Forgeline wheels, but the Forgeline center cap does not do much for me. Anyone got any better options? I'd like to put the OEM Pete on there.
I've got an 01. My only real complaint is the damn alarm system. The key fob seems to have an effective distance of about 12 inches, on a good day. I use the door switch to arm the system, and then hope that the key fob deactivates it when I return. Most of the time, it works first or second...
I've never seen a dyno of just this mod. I doubt you get any measureable improvement. If I had it to do over again, I would start with improved engine management, e.g. VEC3 from Roe. You will get a real improvement that you can really feel. Of course, I'd still end up with roller rockers...
We had our boy in October 2006. I didn't really face the same problem, because my Viper is not my daily driver. Try to find a cheap way to get the little one through the babyseat years. I got an 06 STi, and love the car for how easy it is to drive... FAST! But, can't wait to open the hood...
Tom, help me out in interpreting the graph. Since I have a Gen 2 with ABS, does the graph not show that there would not be a significant improvement by going to any of the other graphed alternatives? Where would the Gen3 be on the graph? And how close to Gen3 do you get with a Gen2 (with ABS)...
