Anyone else have antique plates on their viper?
Im with Rda - Hagerty was a huge joke of an insurer. Ive never seen a company whose entire catalog revolves around cars be so... well... Anti-Driving. They wanted me to put all 9 of my cars on their daily program to get a discount on the Viper (and at the time a 66 Mustang.) The end result...- Bonkers

Help! Gen 1 engine coolant leak
Looks like the thermostat housing might be leaking. Do not remove the intake to investigate until you have a better idea though, the intake gaskets are not reusable and im not 100% if they are even still available. I cant image practice shifting would have anything to do with it, however...- Bonkers

Sitting for 13 years is painful for these cars, if you intend to drive it youre going to need a full fluid flush, tires, and there are several iffy components (like head gaskets and seals) that dont take well to Boredom. 92 is also a much rarer and therefore... slightly... more difficult to find...- Bonkers

Thats the filtering pressure, im talking about the emergency Internal Relief Valve.. The bypass is on the top of the filter, Wix, Napa, Mobil, Fram, ect... are all 90psi which is the standard operating start up pressures of 95% of all motors made. Thats such a bad idea, im really surprised its coming from you Dean. Wix and Napa filters only have a 90psi bypass for a motor with a 110psi startup. To each their own, but running unfiltered used oil through the block makes my skin crawl.- Bonkers

I just removed a Viper Security System and unknown remote start from my Honda earlier this year. Not the same i know, but i suspect the drama will be. You need to take your time and deal with every bad/cut connection in turn - if you miss one, or fail to properly re- connect the wiring it could...- Bonkers

(New Here)2006 Viper - What should be my first modifications?
Im not being mean, but i think the first thing you should do is learn how to drive it properly, then drive it a while to see what YOU feel it lacks. Putting a big blower or suspension on a car as high strung as a Viper may just make it unpalatable... or worse undrivable... to a noob...- Bonkers

Depending on your policy there is a real chance they may total it as non-repairable. If you love the car, whatever you do, do not take a buyout. Most people who dont understand insurance will tell you to total it and "buy back" the remains - the catch is that the insurance company is not...- Bonkers

I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but if MPGs factor into any part of your purchase then youre buying the wrong car. This is a 500cid V10 - my truck AVERAGES 10mpg highway with this motor so anything above 16mpg in a sports car is a feat of engineering in my book. Ive tapped 30mpg...- Bonkers

Battery maintainer/tender?
Im not sure if AGM was even standard enough in 94 to be a factory on any vehicle now that i think of it? Personally i use 5amp Battery Tenders on all my cars, truck, and tractor now since the upgraded unit can self-determine which core the battery is using.
