When it happened to me a few months ago, I was at a high RPM in 3rd. When I hit 2nd instead of 4th, the motor shut down instantly due to the over rev situation for 2nd gear. I quickly
pushed down the clutch pedal & shifted into 4th. There was a significant clutch odor for the next several miles...
If you have you have a COMPETENT Viper tech & a dealership that you can TRUST, don't think twice about the offer to send in your motor. If you are not sure about the local folks who could do the work, take your car to one of the big Viper dealers who have already done the same for other owners...
I was with the Viper Larbre Team at the Daytona 24 this year. These guys are well organized and had ALL potential problems solved and just kept running. They are the 2001 FIA champs. They are a good team with a very reliable car. They could win the class. It will be a good race but if it rains...
You should inspect the underside of the hood to see if it is making contact with the heater air inlet box below it. An important area to inspect is the drain hole portion of the hood. You may need to raise the hood or revise the air box.
I hope this helps identify the problem even though it may...
I don't think that the real Al Bundy, Ed O'Neil is driving around Chicago but Ed actually was & still may be a Viper owner.
He was featured with his car in the Feb. 1994 issue of our original Viper Newsletter. It was likely a late 93 or early 94 red Viper.
Hey Al! My hero! Are you still out...
Re: WHO, at Viper Magazine doesn\'t know how to count???
Just in case you might want to know more about the '92's; only a few Vipers were assembled during 1991 and they were preproduction vehicles. None were considered part of the 1992 production run except for 3 official production Vipers...

It should be a great race! I met the American Viperacing Team at Daytona. They were all great people but unfortunately they had some motor problems & did not finish. The Larbre Viper Team ran a solid race at Daytona without any problems. They are...
Markus, thanks for making the looooong trip to be with all of us in Detroit. We enjoyed your great German humor!
I also want to extend my thanks & great appreciation to Tom & Bill for all of their work to arrange a fantastic weekend.
Hope we can do it again next year.
Pat
I will be there! When & where can we meet? I was also part of the C5 group last year. It was great to be HIGH & DRY on the Backstreeeeeetch! It is a great event. The visit to the garage
area on Thurs. & Fri is fantactic plus a great race on Sat. & Sun.
Is the Forged Horseman going?

Re: Do I have a bad Viper tech that doesn\'t care?
It sounds like this dealership DOES NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS!
Don't waste any more time with him. Things will likely get worst.
Move on to another dealer & put up with the time & driving inconviences that it may cause. I stuck with my local...
The 2003 Viper that I saw last January had a plastic material that was used for the exterior front fender panels. It was easily bendable at the corners and I thought that this was very unacceptable. Not only did I not like it bending but over time plastic materials tend to be unstable and may...
Chuck Tator is great! He went WAY, WAY, Way out of his way to help me on replacement rocker covers. After being TOTALLY STONEWALLED by my local NO STAR dealership, Chuck made the needed connection. My new rockers are now in the works.
I think that Tator Dodge qualifies as DC's first TEN STAR...
Paul, my '93 went through the Arrow rebuild. A local Five Star dealer did the job with the following Five Star improvements:
1- Broken windshield
2- Broken airbox
3- Fuel leak
4- Oil leak
5- No AC
Beware, there are some VERY BAD Five Star dealers out there!
Carefully inspect your car at the...
Don't waste your money on an OPTIMA battery! Go to Sam's Club & buy a Champion Gold Series # 75-2, 750 amp battery. It does not have any top posts. It has a slightly shorter lenght & width with the same base deminsions so that it fits your clamp hold down. It has a retractable plastic handle...
KEWLBRZ!
You must be dreaming! We benchmarked my friends C-5 with the "400hp Mongoose" package against my Viper.
We raced several times from different speeds. We did a 1st gear
blast off the line, later a puchout in 2nd, & finally a high speed run in 3rd. My Viper EASILY won them all. NO...
Great idea! I would like to see it happen.
FYI. This year was the 10th anniversary of the original RT/10 pacing the Indy Race. It would have been a nice article for Viper Quarterly. I offered to write the article and contribute my photos, video & memorabilia but VQ was not interested at this...
In the early days of the Gen I development, I observed some crash test Vipers that had completed the front smash at a 45 deg. impact. The Team Viper folks told me that no one could believe just how slight the damage was. I think that it was the best any Chrysler product had done. The early cars...
Another sad result at the American LeMans Race at Sonoma. I respect & greatly appreciate the efforts by the American Viperacing Team but how can DC sit back & not help these guys?
They were never in contention. They started far back & finished far back. Almost everyone beat them!
Years of Viper...
I have looked over the outside of the '03 convert for hours, sat in it several times & inspected the underside. DC can keep it or try to sell it to someone else. Reality is that they have already made something which we liked & we now own them. I think that they want a car with a more common...
I have attended Viper Days at Road America as a spectator for the last three years. Spectator admission is FREE! It is fantastic to just observe the racing & enjoy the event.
