Gen V Wheels on a Gen III?

I'm the type of person who usually only likes stock wheels, but the the Gen V wheels in my opinion are absolutely beautiful. Has anyone installed Gen V wheels on a Gen III or IV? I'd love to see a picture. I can't decide between the Sidewinder: or the Venom: I'm leaning towards...

[Video] Doors fill with water when I wash the car. Is it just me?

I assume this can't be good for the car. When I wash it, I try to keep the hose away form the mirrors, and door handle. But still, a lot of water gets inside. I took this video about 20 minutes after I rinsed and dried the car. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipKL5vX0SwQ Does anyone...

    TFLcar video

I don't know if this has been posted here, but it's a pretty good overview of the car, and has some clips of Ralph Gilles, Dick Winkle, and Mark Trostle. There is nothing we haven't seen before, but it's always great to see the new Viper. The video features a few other cars, the Viper...

Don't you love it when the kid in the car next to you admires your Viper....

... and isn't it ever sweeter when he's in the passenger seat of a Corvette :) That happened today on the freeway on the ride home from work. ~Jay

bits of metal on the garage floor

Last fall I had a problem with a clogged cat. Thankfully it was covered under the 8/80,000 emissions warranty. Now, I have noticed a lot of metal debris on the floor by the driver side exhaust pipe, and a little on the passenger side. Could this be a sign that the other catalytic...

    18 speaker stereo?

In the Viper magazine they show a preliminary list of options, including an 18 speaker audio system. Where do they plan to put all those speakers? In my thinking, overkill would be 3-way speakers on each side = total of 6; plus a sub behind each seat, now we're u pto 8, then- just for fun...

    The new dash and gauges

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but what do you think of the new design? One thing I love about my Gen III are its white, all business, Auto Meter style, incandescent illuminated REAL gauges. I also like all the tech in a GT-R or Lexus LFA. Is the Gen V a good...

    Bad Bettery?

In the morning when I start the Viper it turns over as I would expect. Then I drive 5 minutes to Chick-Fil-A, eat my egg biscuit, then when I start the car again after sitting for 15 minutes it is really sluggish turning over. I took the battery to Sears (because it's a Die-Hard battery) to...

Ideas for a new exhaust system?

So I'm on the freeway with the Socal and Az club on our way to Sedona when I lost power. Some of the guys pulled over with me to try to fix it, but we couldn't figure it out. I had it towed to Bill Luke Dodge to have them look at it. Their Viper guru is at Daytona, but will return this week so...

Rock chips - how much to have the professionally fixed?

When I bought the car there were one or two chips, now there are 3 or 4. I do plan to continue to drive the car, but I also want to keep it looking as good as possible. Is it better to deal with them a few at a time, or wait til there are a dozen and have them all fixed at once? My Lexus...

    The Interior is finished :)

I took a few teaser pics and posted them in this thread http://forums.viperclub.org/threads/647177-A-few-pics-of-the-new-interior?p=2989498&mode=linear#post2989498 Thank you all for the kind words! The work was completed a couple weeks ago and I finally had some time to take some pictures...

Driver door locks itself every time I get out

I don't know all the scenarios, but when turn the car, get out and close the door, the driver door locks, but the passenger door remains unlocked. What could cause this? I assume it has something to do with the fact that I had the door panels recovered. Could a loose wire cause the problem...

    bell ringing in top latch

OK, it's not a bell, but the rattle does sound a bit like a bell. At certain speeds a vibration will cause a rattle in the convertible top latch. Do you have any idea what need to be tightened in it? thanks, ~Jay

Where do you mount the Snakeoyl cruise control remote?

I have a shop installing the system right now as I type this, but there doesn't seem to be a good place to mount the remote. In the picture on the snakeoyl web site it shows it mounted to the steering wheel, but even in that picture it looks like it's in the way. Where is the best, most...

Any Viper events in Monterey this year?

I understand that Monterey is more of a European thing, but if you are a car lover, then Monetery is the place to be in August. I haven't seen anything about any Viper events or gatherings. I will be at the PG Rally on Friday and the Historic races on Saturday. Thursday, all the Pebble...

A few pics of the new interior

The job isn't done, but I thought I'd go ahead and show you what they have done so far. So far, they have just done the seats and center console. The leather is what would be used on an Aston Martin or Bently. It feels and smells wonderful! I'm looking forward to our PCH road trip to...

    Cruise Control on a 2004

I would really like to have cruise control, but only if it is safe and works well. I bought the Viper with the intention of taking somewhat long road trips. Cruise control would make those trips much more enjoyable. Does anyone have any experience with the Snake-Oyl kit? Do you know of...

    3 Chrome and 1 Aluminum

That's what my wheels look like. Three of them shine like chrome when they are clean, but the 4th one looks like an old neglected polished aluminum wheel. They are the stock wheels on an '04. Do you have any idea what might be going on with that one ugly wheel, and how I can fix it...

    slipping clutch

I wasn't sure if it was the tires spinning or a slipping clutch. But today, I accelerated a bit hard in 3rd gear and felt slippage and also smelled a slight burn. Does that mean I need a new clutch? Or are you just not supposed to punch it in 3rd gear at a low speed? Or could it just...

    Ergonomic seats

In southern California there must be dozens of interior upholstery shops that can make world class looking seats. But I would like to find one that specializes in ergonomics. The 2004 seats don't fit my body, or my wife's. The only car I have driven that is so bad was a Mercury Grand...

I filled my door with water

Last night I washed the car, and when I opened the door a stream of water started flowing out of the bottom of the door. Obviously there is some area I need to avoid with the hose. Does anyone know how water gets in? thanks, ~Jay

    Windows on an 04

I'm still learning things about this car. Are the windows supposed to open a little when you open the door, and then close again once the door is closed? Mine don't move at all. ~Jay

Are Vipers invisible to stop light sensors?

There is one particular stop light in my area that doesn't appear to see me when I'm in the viper. It's a left turn lane. the first time, the lights went through a full cycle and I never got the green arrow until there were cars behind me. The second time, I waited for about 5 minutes, there...
