OFFICIAL SRT-10 POLL!!! THUMBS UP or THUMBS DOWN?

I loved my '00 GTS. When the time comes to get a replacement to fill the Viper void in my life, it won't be a SRT-10 I buy from ol' Pemberton. The SRT-10 posts great numbers, but I can get an equally unassuming sports car to do the same with some mod work. The Gen I/II Viper is all about...

Hennessey (bad) business article in AutoWeek

Just saw this article on John's questionable activites while browsing my morning auto websites: http://autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=carnews&loc_code=&content_code=04383484 James

Can I Get a Better Interest Rate?

Go to http://www.peoplefirst.com . I refinanced my old car loan there about three months ago with NO trouble. Very professional and easy to do. As of this morning, the standing refinance rate there is: 12-36mo = 6.99%, 37-66 = 7.09%, 67-72 = 8.25%. Hope this helps. James

    Gas Mileage Poll

On my trips to Wyoming from Seattle, I netted about 26 mpg while I was doing about 80 on the interstates. Commuting from work to home in Seattle (15 mile trip), I would get about 13-15 mpg. On fun jaunts around the city, I'd regularly see ~11 mpg. James Ex-2000 GTS owner

    A $230K RT/10 ?

I've seen their Saleen S7 - and it is something to behold in person (got a small pic of it hanging on my office wall corkboard). I'd like to see that beastie in action. PP does have a lot of nice toys. I make it a habit of going by every few weeks to see what exotics they have in stock...

    A $230K RT/10 ?

Saw this RT/10 in person (link instructions are below to see the pics, because I couldn't snag a direct link). I found a saleman and asked him what they wanted for it. When he smiled and said "$230,000", my jaw **** near hit the floor. ~~~~~~~~~~~ The pics are at...

    Looking for '00-'01 GTS

Re: Looking for \'00-\'01 GTS My recommendation: call Bill Pemberton at Woodhouse Dodge. Not only are they ~611 miles away from you, but Bill always has quality new and used Vipers available at great prices. Bill P and Woodhouse Dodge are some of the best people in the world to do business...

    Hennessey Front Aero accents

I like the red intakes, Wayne. Nice touch. Just one question: What's up with your hood? It looks latched from the front, but the hood sides around the headlight edges look about an inch too high for the hood to be closed fully... James

    Electric Car vs Viper (0-60)

As for the 0-60 times, remember that electric motors have a flat torque curve - i.e.: all of their torque is available immediately at the start. From that point, I have to believe everything is a matter of gearing. We have electric car drag races in Seattle every year. Local Viper guy Tom...

Productionion Numbers for 2000 RT/10 in Steel?

Noticed this on closer inspection of the presented list: The total production of Black GTS, ~~~~~ 66 + 113 + 13 + 81 != 565 ~~~~~ should be 273 (or am I missing something?) James

    Newbie question on car insurance

I was insured by GEICO up until a few days ago. I contacted Nationwide (just to see what rates they'd offer me) and was astounded. My current full coverage with GEICO costs ~$202 a month. Nationwide quoted me $111. Needless to say, I switched immediately. Thank goodness I read this...

New 505 V-10 easier to work on?

I recall somewhere in the NAIAS media statements that Dodge claimed that the new motor for the 2003 model will be "easier, cheaper to work on". I was of the understanding that the current 488cu motor wasn't that much of a bearcat to work on (big, relatively simple), but aftermarket parts...

    Leasing.

I leased my Viper through Bill P. at Woodhouse before I traded it off for a house (a sad, sad, but happy day). I put down a considerable amount at the time of purchase (14K?), but my payments were very reasonable ($800 a month). Remember: taxes (lux, gas, sales) can put a hell of a toll on...
