To those who predict skies falling on Viper on account of upcoming Z06

I apologize in advance, I rarely post here, but... OP: I remember sitting at the computer for months, waiting for the big reveal, reading every single morsel, drinking the Kool-Aid, being the proper fan boy. Waiting with check in hand for the new Gen 5 (my employees made fun of me for...

    Death of the Viper

Well, it was a skunkworks car and not to surprisingly, so is the new Viper. Dodge has had a terrible reputation for quality in the past, yet look at all of us drooling over this new beast... If you add a nominal cost of living increase, the price may not be as bad as you think. The point of...

    Death of the Viper

As it should, 6 years later. I not only hope it does, but I'd like to see them sitting next to each other one day. :)

    Death of the Viper

You are seriously misinformed. Ford didn't kill the GT because it was unsustainable. It had a few things going against it... As of 2007, the new federal laws mandated that an A Pillar that could not be as close to the head of the driver/passenger as the GT had. It was originally supposed to be...

    Gen V images leaked

I like the third brake light... It's bad Asp!!! (sorry couldn't resist).

    Gen V images leaked

Look at the close up of the Viper badge, its a sticker or painted, not an actual metal badge... Must be a prototype pre-production car?

    Gen V images leaked

Ummm, I just want to see the naked lady on the beach. Where is she? Jury is out for me, I'll have to see it in person to decide for sure but so far I'm not entirely convinced... On a side note, I feel bad for SRT that this got leaked just a day before launch, I would have waited one more day...

    Gen1 dash removal and painting?

I just removed mine today and is in my paint shop being stripped... I would say the two things most people tend to leave out is the center piece (gear shift area) needs to be popped out first because there are two screws on each side of the stereo bezel that hold the center of the dash in place...

    Viper Philosophy

I agree with "I bin ther before" in his rawness statement. I have, and have had many cars... The first question most people ask me is what my favorite car is (always assuming it's the most expensive). But, here is where I am stumped. I love everyone of them for different reasons and oddly...

Wanted to say hello and introduce myself

Awesome, I actually have one called "funhouse" that is acting up, so I may need someones expertise to get it running right. I would like to get my hands on an Adams Family pin... That's one of my favorite machines. Hopefully I'll see you at some events. Cheers!

Wanted to say hello and introduce myself

Nope, when the Gen 3 was wrecked I bought the Ford GT, I plan on ordering the 2013 the day it's available though, my wife already gave it the green light. Can't wait to finally go to a few events.

    new viper hot wheels car

We are in a new world, in which, nearly everything is outsourced, this will never allow a consumer marketed product to be kept secret. I'm bummed because it's coming from hot wheels.... I expected and hoped for a decent leak from a legit car rag... I'm human and want to see it before it's...

Garage / Shop floor covering question

Wow $8 to $10 seems crazy high. I think in the Chicagoland area the highest quote I got was around $5 p square foot. The Epoxy quotes were pretty high though.

Thanks, I believe I may be in CA on business, but will absolutely try and make it. Looks like we're neighbors! Mike

Wanted to say hello and introduce myself

Hi all!!! Just wanted to introduce myself, I have belonged to the Illinois chapter before and this site since 2001, but never had time to participate. This year I am looking forward to some rides and hopefully to meet some nice guys with similar car habits. Sad I missed the big event by a few...

Garage / Shop floor covering question

As an alternative to epoxy, I had my concrete floors polished, they can be stained (left mine natural) and is under $3 p/sq ft. It's also durable because of the densifier they use (with exception to salt). Mine were modeled to give them a marble like texture.

Modeling my Viper SRT-10 in 3d

Looking great so far. Are you planning on making the engine as well?

Modeling my Viper SRT-10 in 3d

There are a bunch of different rendering apps, Hypershot produces very nice output, but they may be out of business now or changed hands in the industry. Solidworks also has a rendering application built into certain versions of their software.

Modeling my Viper SRT-10 in 3d

I have a few pictures of a 1/4 scale Hotrod I built for trade show and marketing use (I don't know how to post pics here though). It was drawn originally in Solidworks, all the parts are off a 3D printer, primed, painted and some parts were plated. Ideally you should be using a 3D CAD app for...

Modeling my Viper SRT-10 in 3d

Hmmm in the end I'll need an STL., Iges and Step are great but you probably cant save those if I remember correctly. Possibly VRML, or 3DS. You may also need to beef up your wall thickness for a small one perhaps even make it into an assembled Solid.

Modeling my Viper SRT-10 in 3d

Solidworks is an excellent program for product design. Rhino, if your more interested in organic shapes like an artist would create.

Modeling my Viper SRT-10 in 3d

I have a bunch of 3D printers (rapid prototyping machines) at my office, if you would like me to build you a small Viper from your file let me know via my inbox. PS. Your design is looking great so far.
