your wrong you ignored continued bashing by just a few people over my concern about miles on a new car. but those same people ignored all the post from viper owners which shared my concern. explain that please? you obviously are not impartial.. you have a turf it seems like a dog in a fenced...

well being on the net in forums, email list, chat rooms ect. since 96 i have seen this pattern over and over again. most people operate at the top or slightly extended over the top of their game. let me explain - a sheetrocker (hoopy) wants to own his own sheetrock company...
i have decided to buy a new viper, but now i have to decide colors coupe or vert, leaning towards a vert otherwise i would get an acr, but that wing is a put off for me as a daily driver. i think a vert would better suit my conservativeness. i have also narrowed down to two dealers i will give a...
which brings to question in general do vipers get a little more attention/ service at the dealer? i know at chevy the vettes get special care - are parked inside at night ect.

HTML clipboardgreat advice from a vca member thanks.
btw no one stepped up to let me drive their viper which no one gives a crap about abusing did they. i think the MAJORITY of most any type of car owner really cares about potential abuse of their car from friends, family or dealers.
mb...
don't think i will buy a used viper i was being conversational more than anything, however.
my feelings are different on a used viper than a new one and the prices of the used vipers reflect that difference. i would not pay 105k for a used viper, but i would pay 50k for a pre 2003 acr to play...
wow what a great post - i always liked the gts body and there are some really well kept like new cars for sale. i was wanting a new car but after reading your post i may try and pick up a gts acr or vert.

believe it or not - i think you gave me some good advice. i could get a vert maybe get some carbon fiber brakes, i like the 2005 commemorative type 5 spoke or the new spiders. i want a really light wheel.
on the color your right i will have to have something that covers the door hinges well...
going thru the same decisions you are right now, i love the acr but mine will be a daily driver. i noticed those tires also and would have to buy another set and store those original wheels or sell them. i would probably take the wing off also if i could and it would cap off looking ok. so i...
ok i am leaning towards a new acr but i am ashamed to have a daily driver with a airplane wing on the back.
i was thinking of a light blue, metallic red, white, black, possibly green - all possibly with silver or white stripes. i like the single driver strip on the acr rather than the whole...
thank god thank you! end of this thread now. i think 4 miles is what i can live with as long as i don't see rubber chunks on the inner fender wells when get it.
look for my new thread titled "first time viper buyer what to get?"
thanks to all you guys for convincing me (thought i still have...
Ok look at the below statement from a guy out car shopping for a Z06 he posted this on a corvette forum - A dealer give a guy the keys to a car with 7 miles on it and read what he does to it. After reading
below the guy says -----------------------------------------------
One dealer I found...
saw on tv where the guy running Chrysler got a 200 million perk package and he used to run Home Depot and he made millions there as their stock also plummeted (Nardelli's severance package was estimated at $210 million).
how do these people get these jobs i wonder? even more i wonder why the...
the jeep was my fault - i was a stupid young man - and revved the thing to the high heavens without letting the oil get warm let alone breaking it in. kim barr tried to get the lifter company to replace the lifters they were hydraulic - i put the old 360 back in and sold the jeep with the extra...
ok tell you what - why don't you get that 72 run engine and put it in your viper. how long will that engine really last. i bet that thing smokes when you start it. i think some of you guys are delusional about how much abuse an engine will take. at least before it needs to be tore into. come...
dude i paid 20 bucks to get married at the rockwall tx county courthouse 1974 after work on a friday - the reason i didn't pay 5 bucks is because i didn't have change - i had just cashed my pay check and had 180 bucks in 20's.
the viper cost 90 grand - i will be the one poppin that cherry thank...
Bill can you better explain the PDI? what is that and how many miles does it take to do that? Have you guys ever had any lifter problems with new vipers?
Mark Brown
ok i believe you and i know you guys have vipers you dog on from day one. i am a old hot rodder i have had at least 200 cars in my 52 years. you can run a car hard from day one like that ford gt or a viper but - what life will it have after 25k miles? that is the question, tear one down after...
all below were bought brand new by me.
Lifters failed 75 jeep cj5 with kim barr built 401 javelin engine, cranked it up - cracked the throttle hard - drove ot like nuts to the muffler shop to get mufflers and when installed - horrible tick tick tick - my young inexperience with not breaking and...
the problem with the miles is that - these guys get in them and immediately dog it. i know for a fact the engine oil has to get to temp to protect the lifters. that is my whole problem, no one understand from the owner down that this does matter at least to me it does. i have had lots of new...
great now that i know most of you don't mind a few miles on your car by someone you don't know - i figure i would ask for some seat time behind the wheel of your vipers?
im in dallas area waiting for a little spin. :drive:
maybe i should get a job washing vipers at a local dealer and just...
