Mark, Look at the front of your valve covers on both sides. There are PCV lines on the front of each of them. If oil sloshes to the front, it will find its way to the intake plenum. Also, you have Hypereutectic pistons and they are prone to ring land failure. Do a compression and leak-down...

Bought a somewhat unloved 99 ACR, first time owner

Mark, If you drive aggressively, and brake hard, oil can slosh toward the front of the valve cover baffle plates and make its way to the PCV inlet on the air intake. Excessive oil in the intake plenum, is not good. Consider a catch can system. This could be the oil smell. Check the intake...

    Wondering wich supercharger is louder??

Happy, I have a 2000 GTS ACR with: 2.4 liter ROE (Keith Black SC), 1.7 ratio rockers, VEC II, water/meth (w/m) injection. The car came with 6.5 psi pulley and tuned on w/m. I went back to 5 psi and tuned on gas only. Now use the w/m to keep the intake charge cool only (not for performance...

Took the cats out. Definitely louder.

ROE has the parts and not too expensive. I purchased 30" spool pieces with new clamps and installed yesterday. Not too difficult. Cut the tubes to size, as the left was 20" and the right was 17". Get the parts, disassemble, measure, cut and install.

Naturally Aspirated (Stroker) Vs. Forced Induction... which is better?

If the SC model has over 5 lbs. of boost, perform a compression and leakdown test and borescope through the spark plug holes. The 2001's have cast pistions and are prone to piston crown failure if run hard at too high a boost level. Mine is currently at 5psi, (2000, GTS ACR, ROE 2.4 liter SC...
