I knew when I bought my Viper that with a motor like that I could not worry about MPG's. So in short.....it doesnt matter. Drive the car and refuel as needed.
I had a grin from ear to ear the whole time the Viper was on. WhileI dod agree the chase was somewhat staged, it was very entertaining.

If I am not mistaken it was lamborghini who had some input with the engine part of the first Viper. My research shows Chrysler bought Lambrghini n 1987 then sold it in 1994.
Go to Home Depot and buy a telescoping magnet. Looks like an antenna with an small magnet on the tip. I too dropped a screw in an area where I could not reach. The magnet is very strong and will get those screws out for you.
