I'm thinking about buying a 2003 Viper in West Liberty, KY. I want a pre-purchase inspection, however, to make sure everything is in good shape, and not just electrical/mechanical, but also the frame and body, given that there was an accident in the car's past that I do not have any details...
That are preventing heavy mods---will those electronics probably be cracked so you can supercharge, etc. the Gen 4s? I think its pretty typical that when these new eletronics come out it takes awhile for the aftermarket to figure them out and adjust, but eventually it comes around.
That...
It seems like 80% of the G1s and G2s I see have very noticible gaps between the hood and the frong headlights. Is that just the way they are (not produced to fit very well), or is it because there is some mods that don't close all the way?
If it's the former can you do some work to make it...
Hey fellas, I'm a long-time corvette owner but looking to move up to a Viper so I can be one of the guys God made so vette guys would have heroes :)
Anyways, I saw a post on the corvetteforum the other day where a bunch of guys were saying the GTS gets way more attention than an SRT (whether...
OK, why is it the *official* thread? Cause I claimed it in the title!!! :)
My (initial, will have more) questions regarding the awsome beast that is the Street Serpent:
- I see all these beutiful pics---is there any angle at which the street serpent actually looks bad or less than...
I know there are centrifigul (spelling might be off) blowers for Vipers, but are there also roots and twin-screw types?
I guess in a Viper, with so much low end torque already, a centrifigul type makes the most sense. Or can one ever really have too much torque? :)
With a ceptrifigul you...
OK, after doing some looking around the forums, and with the help from several posters, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with a Gen III vert and mod the hell out of it.
Here is my question. I am eventually going to pull the engine and go all forged. While I have it out, and since I'm going to...
I was always under the impression that the differences between a Gen III and IV were pretty minor--engine tweaks mainly.
However, I've seen several on the forum talk about them almost as if they are radically different cars.
Can anyone give me a brief summary of what the differences are...
OK, sorry for so many newb questions, but I'm looking to buy a SRT-10 pretty darned soon :)
I am not really a huge vert guy, but I already have a Corvette Z06 hardtop, so I'm really leaning towards the vert so I can get some top-down action. I think the hard-tops they got for the verts look...
Just saw this off Dodge's website at

Has any Viper owner done a widebody rear end mod? I tend to see them a lot with Corvettes, but I haven't seen any Vipers with it.
Maybe that is just because the Vipers can already hold tires that are plenty meaty :)
Thanks!
I saw someone mention these in another thread. I've probably just not been paying attention, but I can't remember seeing one. Anyone have a pic handy?
Thanks!
Just curious as to whether the coupes or verts get more looks and attention. I know they both get a ton but does anyone know from experience gets more?
My guess would be, from first to last,
1. Vert with top down
2. Coupe
3. Vert with top up
But that is just a WAG :)
Thanks!
