Just saw a red GTS Coupe with white stripes at 7:40am PST on the right lane of I-80 westbound on the East Bay in West Contra Costa County in stop-and-go traffic, near Hilltop Mall exit.
No front plate. I was exiting fast and didn't see it until it was too late to check out the rear license...
Looks like the door has to be relatively straight and flat for it to work. Wouldn't that rule out the highly sculpted Viper doors? Great if it works for the Viper.
In the very short time since I began to look at a Viper as my next ownership experience, I discovered the Viper Forum and located the local Viper group here in Northern California. My first meeting with president Maurice Q. Liang and his members at their hospitality suite at the Formula Drift...
I believe certain crowds gravitate towards a Viper, just as those for a luxury sports car. The reason for the Viper's exclusivity is not because of its price but of its appeal to drivers who emphasize performance over creature comforts. The luxury sports car crowd does not gather and talk about...
Bill Pemberton of Woodhouse Chrysler sent me an email regarding my interest in becoming a Viper owner. The following excerpt may get to show the last 2010 Viper inventory is about to be depleted anyway:
"...we have the largest allocation of 2010s in the Nation. They are going quickly ...
I think I get it. The car wash in ViperGTS's pic is the type that only requires you to drive your front tire "over" a little ramp and then that's it you can stop it there, and doesn't require your front tire to be locked into a well.
So some car wash can accommodate the Viper's front tires width and lower fascia. May I ask if this is a gas station car wash? I will also check out the YouTube. Thanks for the tip.:drive:
Thanks for the immediate responses. The Viper will have to be garaged, then. Do you clean your Vipers yourselves? What products do you use to clean it?
The Viper owner's manual recommend against bringing the Viper to commercial car wash. Does it really matter? Do we all wash our Vipers ourselves? How often do you wash your Viper?
Per GA VCA president Chad's suggestion, I was able to upload the pictures into photobucket.com. Here they are:

Thank you very much, Chad, for coming to my rescue.:2tu:
I managed to video the event. The 3 videos are now on YouTube:

Practice 2

Enjoy!
I want to thank everyone's support both here in the Forum as well as at the event yesterday. You are an exceptional group.
One thing interesting I forgot to mention. When Bill...
I had my first experience of a car race earlier today, as a guest of the Viper Club of America, Northern California Region.
The Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, CA, held Round 6 of the Formula Drift Pro Championship race, and the VCA had a secluded section all of its own at the best vantage point, at...
A very good point. I get a good deal of attention driving the SLK350. Now that my SLK350 has been in the body shop for severe vandalism in a hotel parking lot over a week, I've been driving the Hertz loaner car Toyota Corolla S, I find the "blend in and disappear" feeling among fellow drivers...
Thank you very much for your words of wisdom and encouragement. I met with head Viper Maurice Liang yesterday at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA, to watch the Formula Drift practice, and I got a chance to sit in his 08 Viper SSG SRT-10. I floored it slightly at neutral and was pleasantly...
Right before the end in the 9th minute, the Viper seemed to be catching up to the Porsche finally and running alongside it for a long straight stretch. Then the Porsche overtook the Viper again. What happened?
I find the writer's assessment of the BMW, Prius and Hummer spot on. But who cares if someone thinks of us as douchebags just because we choose to, and can afford to, have fun and drive one of the most impractical but fastest and coolest looking cars on the planet?
Maybe all Vipers owners should consider modifying their Vipers to the lambo doors. That will give us a Viper shot with doors in the air just like the Lamborghinis.
