You Viper guys are a class act; true automotive enthusiasts!
This is the reason I bought I C6 Z51 because they are so cheap & easy to mod. My 3LT was $58k out the door, and with another $5k, I was able to get more HP than a stock Z06 yet keep it very drivable. I get the whole, not as rare as a...
Wait just a minute here; who is making excuses?
There are 16+ pages of excuses on this thread ranging from tires, to driver abilities to pre-production foibles...
Pot calling the kettle black?
Plain and simple, the SRT lost this battle... however both are exceptional vehicles.
I for...
SRT is being awfully quite of late...
January will be my month to pull the trigger; Viper, GT-R, or wait a bit for the C7.
The new 911 Turbo I'm sure will be impressive, but it is sure to be out of my price range.
Very odd that no performance data has been released whatsoever.
Wow, they have really destroyed that track. I used to race AFM in the early 90's when it remained a very technical, challenging track. The NASCAR bypass the driver took in this video is a joke. The plethora of fugly outbuildings & grandstands - pathetic. :crazy2:
Sounds like someone got all butthurt...

Well, I for one am looking forward to see how the G5 compares against the target vehicles they set as benchmarks.
Hopefully there will be some comparos/full tests coming soon.
Well Bill, I get a kick out of people who buy cars solely because of what that car did on a particular track, then blast others when they challenge that decision with objective facts from a plethora of trade 'rags'. I may have only 8 or so posts here, but rest assured, based on your arrogant...
Uh, yeah but nobody is paying sticker on those cars, nor have they been for a long time... Check out the sponsored dealer's prices and deals on Corvette Forum, so this point is essentially moot. Fully agree with your other points though.
I respectfully disagree with that statement. The GTR will hand a Viper it's head in any measure of acceleration, especially from a dig. That motor is also very easy to get to ridiculous levels of power. We all know that the car's computers are doing the heavy work and Joe Schmo can get in & wax...
As the owner of a heavily modded C6, I was eagerly watching the development of the Gen V Viper. But with a GTS base starting at $120k w/o options, there are just too many other options out there that are more appealing to me; namely the 2014 GTR, C7 and 911.
Given the fact that Viper dealers...
Thanks - I just hate to see car 'enthusiasts' bashing on other competitive cars; No doubt the new Viper is likely to (hopefully) be segment leading, but I see this same crap on all the forums. The GT-R guys posting some quarter mile race of a ZR-1 missing a shift then bashing all Vettes to crap...
It is posts like these that make me realize what a bunch of immature children most of you are. Posting crap like this bashing the Corvette for 'commonality'; WTF - aren't you guys supposedly auto enthusiasts?
I've got news for you; the Viper is seen as a poor-man's Porsche, Ferrari or Lambo...
