Thanks JMills, and a few notes:

IF you have a Gen 2, and choose to remove the coilover to install our caps, you should consider adjusting the REBOUND away from full-soft factory OE setting, to a stiffer setting. Especially since the shocks are 8-14 yrs. old! Unless you have a G2ACR, the rebound can only be adjusted while the coilover is off the car. And you're removing some of the room for suspenson travel, so consider the adjust. It is essential to stiffen the rebound IF you slam the car by doing both Eibachs and Caps, less room for whoop-deee-dooo dips.

The HANDLING is bit snappier-crisper more responsive with the caps installed. Why? Because of the lower C.G. the car is easier to rotate with the same steering input. Many owners say it feels like less body-roll when the caps and/or adjustments are made.

As stated, 'relaxing' the spring by .66-.70 inches would be imperceptible to most assses, but maybe a Tommy Archer kind of guy could tell.........

The realignment should be accomplished soon after lowering, but not critical or essential to do it the same moment. Slight adverse tire wear eats tires over time.
