Has anyone successfully attempted to replace a burned out LED in the 3rd brake light on their roadster??

I have a brand new take off from a low mile car (OEM) for $125 plus shipping if interested
This is the complete 3rd brake lamp.

Since it's already broken there's no harm in trying to take it apart to see the inner workings. Guessing someone could probably fix it by soldering in a new LED, but it may be more trouble than it's worth. Especially if it's a surface mount style instead of a through-pin.

It's not common for leds to burn out, sometimes it's just a cold solder joint that's vibrated loose as MoparMap says no harm trying.
