There are clubs in the USA that make replica engines that run! I can't imagine the time it would take to machine everything out in scale.

I have this vague memory of similar scale replica engines being offered through a site sponsor of the very original Viperclub.org site (circa 1997 or 1998). I can't remember if it ran or not, though - but I do remember looking at it and thinking that would be a cool thing to have in my livingroom. Anyone remember for sure?

The guy who built those was at one of the VOIs.

I don't rememebr the price being anywhere close to $250K - much less.
