Results!!!

Since I already had a 10" Solobaric sub, I decided to test my skills and build my own sub box. I knew that this would be tricky due to the awkward shape of the passenger footwell area. Anyways, here is the result of my primitive box building adventure..

I'm pushing the sub with a Targa 200 watt amp and an Acoustic crossover. This setup "THUMPS"!! I was depressed when I found out that the RT/10 was not meant to have bass. Boy was I wrong! I could not believe how much bass I'm getting with the top on or off. This setup almost hits just as hard as it did in my last car (a hatchback). Total cost for box and vinyl = 15 Bucks!! Best part is, I can remove the sub for long trips. I highly recommend this setup for anyone who is looking for bass in an RT/10.

Thanks for all your advice to help me decide on what to do!

What do you think about the Solarbaric. I thought about putting an 8 inch between the seats.

The solobaric is awesome! Worth the extra money if space is an issue. My friend used to be jealous because the one 10" speaker I have hits harder than his two 12's!

John, an 8" between the seats is a good idea, im working on having the rear panel remolded so an 8" will fit. the factory port is just a bit too shallow for the sub depth and if its brough out an inch or two itll allow for the sub size plus still sit flush between the seats so ittl still "look OEM" so to speak

Man I feel for you RT/10 guys. All I did was get a Bazooka tube mount it in the "trunk" and off I went. Since my "trunk" is open to the cabin I get all the low end I want. When I want to play golf I just unstrap it pull the plug and throw in the clubs. :p

Yeah, I don't see why an 8" Bazooka Tube mounted right at the passengers seat wouldn't work. The tub is small enough that the passengers legs should go right over the tube, unless you have 5 foot passengers. Does this make sense?
