You should also add what kind of condition of weather that day was and elevation. I'm not stock so I can't post my times here. But like at my track it was 700feet elevation.

My goal is to get into the 11.3s. On the right day it will definitely be possible. :drive:

I see a lot of great numbers posted on this site but I've never achieved them. Can someone post the proper way to launch a Gen 3? What RPMs do you launch at? How do you leave the line? Feather the clutch? The Gas? both? At what RPM do you shift? What launch changes would you make for a supercharged Gen 3? On non-run crap street tires. Appreciate the help.

pretty amazing..And I do beleave you will be able to do it...

I swear 2003 verts are the best deal of any car out their IMHO...

For 37-40K you get....

- A car that can trapp 120-123 mph

-A car that can run 11.9-12.1 under normal conditions with an average driver

-A car that can hit 192 mph

-A car that can lap kneck and kneck with a C6Z06

-A car that will dyno 445 rwhp SAE

-A car that looks 95% just like it's new 2009 brothers that still run 80K

-A car that has an amazing road prsence..Ive seen 2 SRT10's on the road in the past two years here in Hawaii

And best of all you can find them all day with under 15K miles

Ive got someone coming over today who has a 2003 vert that he painted yellow and added the 2008 hood..It has roller rockers and titanium exhaust...It put down 462/488 SAE on the dyno yesterday..

If all goes well Ill be getting into a Viper again soon..Ill still have my nsx as well but I have to unload it fast or my wifes gonna kill me..Cas two exotics is not within my budget...

Sorry for ranting but Im very excited about getting into a srt10 again.

-Lower pressure on the Runflats to 21-23 psi.
-Go around the water box, back in and then roll forward about a foot in front of the water.
-Warm up the tires. Don't torture them just heat them up.
-best way to launch is not racing someone else but leave when you are ready. Your clock starts when you start to roll not when the green light is lit. Get your revs right and go...
- I launch between 2500 and 3000 depending on traction.
-The clutch will over heat if you ride it. Release the clutch rather aggressively while squeezing down the throttle. You should be floored and off the clutch in about 10-15 feet.
-Shift close to redline
- You will need to use 4th gear. If you try to stay in 3rd you will bounce off of the rev limiter which will cost you time.

Here is a video of my run. I was racing at a private track rental with Ranger of Z06 fame. Launching a Z06 or a Viper is basically the same.

Notice I do not dump the clutch but I release it aggressively.

Here is Ranger running some else's ZR1. Also listen for the launch.

Best of luck.
Look at it like sex.... half the fun is in the practice. :D

Sorry buddy missed the thread LOL.

I was stock except I was running my not track wheels that day as I didn't plan on making passes. SO the car was stock with a set of big Modular Concept Wheels on it wrapped in Nitto Invo's. Those wheels are NOT lighter than my stockers so sure it was probably slowing the car down a touch.

I agree with Viper Jim Capitol is junk but we had it for the day so I made a few passes. The DA was OK that day so nothing to wright home about so I figure the car would have easily run 11.7's stock in better weather.

On Monday I attended a private track rental. I hit a personal record of 11.426 @ 120.02. I hit a 1.729 60 ft time with the stock runflats. I still think 11.2s are possible. Can't wait for springtime.

Thanks.
Ranger picked a great day to set up the rental. It was cold and the track was sticky. If my trans hadn't started to act up I think I could have even done better. I hit a 1.7 60 ft time but 3rd gear would not cooperate.

I know its really hard to verify. Ten years or so ago there was a guy from Mass running 11.6 in a Gen 2 who CLAIMED the car was stock .Anyhow he showed up with it one time at a Zone event at Englishtown and wouldnt you know it that out of all Gen 2 ever produced Dodge forgot to put the cats and mufflers on his car from the factory LOL.
