Car only has K&N's and Claude Short intake tubes. Dynoed at 415RWHP and 465RWTQ last year.

Tonight at Epping NH, I was running mid 12's at 115mph or so. I couldn't figure it out... I was being VERY harsh on my shifts and getting a lot of wheelspin, so I tried letting the clutch out easier. I then got [email protected]. Not bad at all on stock tires and a bone stock car.

I then let a friend drive who is a very good driver, he got an [email protected] on his FIRST RUN. The car got a little sideways off the line, and caught a lot of rubber on the 1-2 shift, but still ran strong.

The highlight of the night was when I lined up against a Z06. I was still using my crappy shift technique, and I ran a [email protected] to his [email protected], so I beat him handily

It was close though, which prompted me to work on shift technique, which led to the [email protected].

Egad, those are good times for a stock car!

Can you find out what your friend's 60' time was, how he launched the car, and at what RPMs he was shifting?

Treynor,

Here is the run...

R/T: .419
60': 1.918
330: 5.098
1/8ET: 7.685
1/8MPH: 96.95
1000: 9.903
1/4ET: 11.789
1/4MPH: 119.57

He was shifting the car by feel, but we estimated it was around 5800RPM. My times were a lot WORSE when I shifted at 5500 - I was running 12.5's. It was only when I shifted around 5800 that I started hitting 12.1's. We were thinking maybe my tach might be off or something, because that wasn't what we expected to happen.

As for the launch, it was about 2500RPM with a slight slip of the clutch to prevent roasting the tires. The car actually didn't launch THAT hard (I was able to get a 1.8 60' earlier in the night), and Greg did lose a traction a little on the 1-2 shift, and even got some rubber shifting into 4th! Greg felt the car was good for 11.60's with a better launch and a better track.
