18 x 12\" CCW\'s... what tires will fit up front?

I picked up a set of 18" CCW's to use on the street (I plan on selling my stock 2001 GTS wheels, so if anyone is interested let me know).

The rears are 13" wide, but the fronts are 12" wide. What would fit on there without rubbing? I'm thinking my only option may be 335's Pilots all the way around...

Thanks!

Re: 18 x 12\" CCW\'s... what tires will fit up front?

I use the 12" CCW (Purner) wheels for the track with 305/30-18 Hoosier race tires. This is the size that matches the rim. I think that Kuhmo now makes this size (Ecsta V700) and is available from the Tire Rack (low stock), but it is not a traditional "street" tire and does not have good wear.

I don't know how well a 335 would work with the narrower rim. A 335 would be huge on the front and may not be suitable for the street. Maybe someone has experience with a 295 stretched out to fit this width wheel.

Check with John Purner at CCW for ideas.

Good luck.

Re: 18 x 12

I've run 335s all around on my car. That's with 12.5 and 13.5 x 17s. I did experience some minor rubbing of the hood, but my car was lowered to 4.25" ride height in front. With this setup, I was able to outcorner Formula Continentals. They were dumbfounded. :2tu:

Sorry John, I bought 5 sets of 335's to run SCCA this year and another forum member bought at least 3 sets :)
