Nope, remember that just because you have more hp and lighter weight does not mean that you will run quicker or faster. In a perfect traction situation maybe, but not in the real world.

The best example is my race car, turn the boost down to 20psi you can run 9.8's all day long. Turn it up to 30 psi and nitrous, another 300hp. And you will still run the same 9.8's maybe 9.70's.

The numbers being posted are the same ones that where in the original press kits at the 2000 Detroit AutoShow. Those are ESTIMATES, as the brochure says.

Testing has been going on, and some of that has been with the press, so you should see some ACTUAL numbers very soon.

Does anyone know what Evan Smith's technique is to run that 11.77?

From what I watched when he ran the Viper/Z06 test:

Heat up the tires
Modest launch RPM
VERY fast shifts (no speed shifting)

Evan is an artist!

50HP and 200# ain't going to be any 4 tenths believe me. More HP is going to be harder to hook up. 200#s (if thats right) isn't coming off the front end, so wieght bias could be worse than current car. And that 100#s for a tenth might apply to a 14 sec car, but the formula tightens up dramatically below 13 seconds. 200#s in the right place might be a tenth at best in a car that already goes 12 flat. An example further up stream is that i took 150#s out of a car that ran 9.1 and it went 9.05. That's with slicks so there was no traction factor like a street tire car.
